Just watching it now, what a man, what a manager and we truly were blessed to have him manage the Blades. I fear what would have happened to United had he not joined considering the huge boardroom problems we had at the time. Thank you Harry!

He was the right man at the right time for us and dragged us up by our bootstraps after we were on our arses.

I will always be very thankful to DB for all the good times he gave us fans who thought our club was going nowhere fast.

He was the right manager at the time and we had some great times including 4 seasons in the top flight. The pace, power and determination we showed that great day at Leicester will never be forgotten - topped off by SWFIUA.

We were potless with a dodgy chairman wanting out and with the Country about to go into deep recession no one was coming to bail us out.

He literary saved this club.

100% cometh the hour cometh the man never a truer word spoken.
Compare then with the time Wilder came in very similar situations with similar outcomes, difference being Wilder in a position to kick on ,Harry had no real money to spend and did a great job.
Harry says he's not his mentor but I bet of all the experiences Chris had as a player and manager he gained more about man management off him than anyone else.Having said that he's put his own stamp on it and the style is groundbreaking.
Watching the Leicester clips again brings back great memories from that time .
A real sunny day both on and off the pitch.

Ahmen brother, and despite the sneers and the jibes, what the likes of Sunderland, Bolton, Portsmouth, Coventry, Ipswich, Bristol Rovers, Bradford, Chesterfield, Plymouth, etc wouldn't currently give to have their own Bassett.

Two back to back promotions, an FA Cup semi, four seasons in the top division, doing the double over the pigs, regularly being the match of Man Utd, an LMA Manager of the season award and a 9th place finish. On a shoestring of a budget.

He is, was and always will be a legend in my eyes and a footballing alchemist. He made best use of the resources available to him, at a time when the club was only going one way. It's easy to mock and belittle achievements, when the rats have left Hamelin.

As coincidence would have it saw Derek French yesterday in the porter cottage yesterday and had a little chat with him .As a side note he had no idea too that Wilf was the zone man .
