You need to look for obviously a good defender first and foremost, a good reader of the game, communicator, and who will put their head on everything that comes their way. Passing ability isn’t as important. Not saying he isn't easier to replace than JOC, just wondering who the many decent CBs are that would be an adequate replacement.

From my untrained football brain and without really thinking about it I’d be looking at Terrence Kongolo or Christopher Schindler from Huddersfield, Zimmerman at Norwich or Swansea’s Mike Van Der Hoorn.
Everton are a special manager away from being a top 4 club. Liverpool a much better city too and probably more convenient keeping in touch with his Irish tendencies.
As it stands they just keep getting wank managers so I doubt big sensible John will be desperate to go there in a rush.
I can understand players like Egan creating interest at other clubs. The first question I would ask any player who is tempted is: Do you enjoy coming in to work every day?
I was looking at Sharp and Fleck having fun on that honesty game and thinking, they are enjoying this. It's another thing that is easy to take for granted, but I'm sure most of us can remember going to work with a smile on our faces, at least for one job.
Can't buy that with money. It's all about the people.
I think Wilder will have a value on his players and if its met he'll leave it up to the player. He inspires loyalty and I think that is part of itI am not so sure, Henderson aside of course, because we can't control that.
Wilder doesn't have a record of flogging the family silver, so why would he now that we are in significantly less need of the money? Granted if a player says he wants off then that changes matters. But I am not convinced many players would want to walk out on this.
We'll see.
Leicester have been very clever in the last few years. They have sold quite a few good players for shed loads of money and then replaced them, usually with better players who cost much less. That's why they are doping so well.As long as the money's right I'm sure Wilder will find a replacemen.. It's not done Leicester any harm selling Maguire for big money..
Not really bothered if they do leave ,any of them or all of them .with the kind of money we'd get ( not want or expect ) Wilder could build a champions league winning teamOur success in the Premiership has been validated in the last week weeks, so the interest in players is going to be inevitable.
I can see Deano, JOC, Egan, Lunny and maybe even Mousset being tempted away in the next 6 months.
My advice would be to give us at least one more year to see if the club matches their own ambitions and maybe enhance their chances of going to an Everton, West Ham or Palace into going to Man Utd, Liverpool or Spurs etc.
If man city get a ban 5th will doOnly way of keeping a hold of Egan is for us to nail down that 4th CL spot![]()
I'll PM you a location to leave me the cash, then I'll post themWhere do you get them?

I'm not the managerWho did you have in mind?
I really do think that Egan would fit into most teams' formations as a no nonsense CB as he is with us.Disagree......it might be unpopular but I really believe that if any of our players were at other clubs they’d be underwhelming and average.
It’s the system playing to their exact strength over and over again thats making them play so well.
I remember Gary Birtles at Forest being a superb striker then he goes to Man Utd for big money
and instantly looks limited. Think the same will happen with many of our players.
Also I’m very confident that they’ll be hardly any big bids for our players during their first season in the top flight
Think any interest will be for relatively modest amounts 10 to 15 million but these figures aren’t tempting enough as it would cost more to replace them.
