Hands down McGoldrick every time notwithstanding the age difference. Both play the roving number 10 role. But Didzy's performances over the past couple of years have been outstanding. He must be playing the best football of his career. He has adapted to the Premier League like a fish to water. Hasn't Brooks been out injured for Bournemouth for a good while now? Jury's out on the young lad. Has he the physical toughness? In retrospect his sale was a good one. In fact Mousset or Brooks? Both cost about the same. Bournemouth thought they had our pants down with £10 million or so for Brooks. No. We got Mousset at a steal.

Don’t know where that’s come from. Random.
They did have our pants down.

But on the same note, George Baldock or Kyle Naughton?
Bash or Harry?
Ollie Norwood or Marty Harriot?
Lys Mousset or Jordan Slew?

When we sold Brooks it felt like we'd never have another similarly exciting attacking player.

As it turns out, we would. And he'd arrive only one year later from the club we sold Brooks to.

See it as a straight swap. Brooks for Mousset with McGoldrick coming in to get us up in the meantime. Not bad.

I don't know if Brooks would work in this current system to be honest. Physical superiority seems to be a big part of our game now with this 3-5-2, but I still think it's a shame we couldn't keep hold. Easily the most technically gifted player we've had this decade, and £10m was a steal if you play a system like Bournemouth that allows that to shine through. Hope he's fit again soon and hope he plays at the lane later this season.

Yeah, that's probably a better comparison. Brooks or Mousset? Both cost around £10 million. Point is we must have done the best transfer business in the game over the past couple of years. When he consider Arsenal spent £72 million on Pepe for example.

Once you catch glandular fever the strain stays in ur body for the rest of your life. Even when recovered, you become fatigued more easily, dehydrated quicker and injuries take a lot longer to fully recover from. Fair to say his current ankle ligament injury is taking quite a bit longer than Bournemouth expected... so maybe they didn't have our pants down after all 🤷‍♂️

Was always around three months... was out before we played them...three months ago

Impossible to compare....totally different types of players.

Brooks is more of a winger, much quicker and a better dribbler.
McGoldrick has more awareness and intelligence.

Brooks is the better individual player, still young and likely to get better.
McGoldrick is the better team player with some brilliant hold up and link play.

Would prefer McGoldrick in our team instead of Brooks but that doesn’t mean McG is better.
I actually think Brooks is probably the better player but McG suits our team better.

Didzy is a super hero. But he's 31. Brooks is 22/23 and has the potential to be the best player on the pitch in a top 4 game.

For this team, now? Didzy. For value etc, Brooks

What he said.

Didzy has won us more games than Brooks did. But Brooks is magic talent. Question is, will he be the same after a long injury layoff.

Going purely on impact on the pitch I would go with MCG. The reason being Brooks is often out for long periods of injury. For us at least MCG is better as he is available for more games. Therefore his impact is greater.

That's a great point ,hadn't thought of it like that

Don't think Brooks will ever play a full season and these injurys and illness's will take their toll

In his first senior season for us he barely featured and then the same last season for Bournemouth after a great start and again now
I said last season when he was flying I hoped Bournemouth would sell him for big money as I suspected he was injury prone. (Tbf, I thought we’d be in the championship this season and the sell on fee would have been useful).

He is still young. Bournemouth would get significantly more if he was sold.
