Based on the prices found HERE... will you be renewing your ST before April 17th?

If you are undecided or if you have decided not to, what would make you reconsider and renew?

Undecided for me.

Two factors influencing this:
1) The matchday experience and product on the pitch
2) My own moth bitten wallet

To be honest, it's definitely more the second than the first. But the first makes it easier for me to say "I'm too poor to buy a ticket".

How about 4th option. Are you buying for the first time or coming back to buying a season ticket after a few years off?

No prices yet for those... but I will add the option :)

Undecided for me ATM, and thats for no other reason than the Query ive raised in the other thread regarding the "£6.50 a week" charge

If anyone can elaborate on this, either by beng a financial wiz, or alternatively by speaking to the Box Office i would appreciate it as i cant at the minute.

I have voted at undecided. Despite my strong vocal outburst against ST prices I know by not renewing I would be left with a heavy heart. I can see that if I do renew now at £409 it would have gone down by about £40 for me which is something I suppose! It's still more than I'm prepared to pay at present though.

If the £409 stays the same between now and deadline for renewals I will consider it. If that's just an early renewal price and goes up between now and then I definately 100% won't be paying for one. Makes my decision simple now. To be honest I intended to wait a bit anyway as I rarely renew at this stage of the year.

Might even wait til after the deadline and move seats. You never know. Having said that I could save £409+ and move to a comfy seat at home with sky sports. That costs me about the same every year and I get to see lots more football :D

Although I would add that £409.00 is reasonable but with two to buy and finances stretched I'm not sure we will.

See this is the issue and is for me as well. Often you have to buy two adult ones because people go as families. If it's £818 to take your other half then "affordable family football" it is not, IMO.

If I reluctantly decide to renew I would have to look at their DD scheme. Its a lot of money to shell out in one go with my other commitments in mind. The DD scheme might give me an excuse to swallow my pride, depends if it charges interest etc. though.

Not for me I would consider it if either 1 they were free, or 2 KB goes. :)

This is another key to it. With the ground swell of opinion against poor old KB, the club might find a surge of supporters renew at the end of the season following a change of manager.

If the club keeps the current management regime in place, expect between 18,000 and 20,000 attendances next season. They would sell another 4,000 ST if they changed the manager. That's not a criticism of KB by any means but I could see it making a massive difference.

Nah, was messing to be honest I wouldn't renew next season anyway as its been a waste of money having one for the last two seasons, for me it takes up a whole Saturday and it has now become a chore to get motivated to come up just got better things to do like watching SSN lol

I know where your coming from on this, however I for one dont look at it this way. With managers jobs being under threat almost from the day they take over surely this shouldnt be a consideration for purchasing a ST.

Undecided, A few of the regular lads have dropped out this season and it's more of a chore than a pleasure coming to the Lane, however the last 2 home performances are tipping me towards yes. I'm 65% in favour.

Would suggest that the £6.50 ish per week quoted is for a concession ticket payable over 8 months

Managers are under immense pressure all the time yes but consider the average football supporter.............

A new manager to them means a new dawn, a chance to surge up the league table and turn things around. 90% of supporters place all their hopes on a new manager when they come in and assume everything is going to get better. A new manager would generate a lot more interest. I think it would be the best thing they can do as far as ST sales go.

I was hoping that this would be the case, which would make more sense. However, in usual SUFC style, i dont think that the release reads that way.

Anywho, after speaking to the Box Office I know have it clarified for those who are interested.

Based on my renewal, South Stand @ £409.00, the interest has increased pretty much understandably to ~£42.00. This means that for the 8 month option your payments would be ~£56.38 totaling at ~£451.00.

So the "weekly" statement equates to £12.99/week for renewal.

Hope that this helps, and for those in the kop, sorry but i dont have the %

Nope.

I think I elaborated in the other thread that I've found myself progressively enjoying the experience of regularly travelling up from London less year on year. There seemed to be a lot of non-Saturday home games too, which has meant I've not been able to go - I suspect I've barely broken even on the season ticket compared to what I'd have otherwise paid individually. By choosing the individual games, I'll probably be much happier - perhaps even more positive about the club in general, another thing that I've found has declined since relegation.

The season ticket price isn't too unreasonable at all, if you're likely to be able to go to most of the games (though in reality, with travel, the overall cost is probably over double that). Though I did think Linz's Saturday season ticket idea sounded good. Perhaps some kind of flexi season ticket could work, where you buy say "16 games" that you pay for in the summer, and can allocate as the season starts for the games you can/want to attend.

Aye, I do think offering more choice to people who entice some back... it'd be a bit of a logistical nightmare with the different categories of games though.

We've got A*, A, B and C.

So you might get a flexi card that entitles you to all category A* and A matches and a certain number of Bs and then the rest are Cs.

Ground swell. Tha what?

At the time of typing this post the poll currently states exactly 19.23% of voters will not be renewing.

According to one website our average home attendance this season is 25,552.

If all those voting 'not to renew' follow through on that promise that means you're looking at average gates (potentially) of 20,638.

Naturally that doesn't take into account those who pick and choose games turning up more/less. It also doesn't take into account those who are undecided...........

Take a small sample of the 25% undecided, say another 5% from that don't renew and you're looking at 19,360 average gates.

Won't be renewing for the first time in 10 years, just signed up for my new uni house for next year. The weekly cost of living up there is enough without the cost of getting from Durham to Sheffield every week with everything on top. The money for my season ticket will pay the deposit on my house.
Last year the cost was irrelevant and I missed one home game all season despite being at uni, building up a quite impressive defecit in my finances in the process.
The head's gonna rule the heart this season I'm afraid.

Linz,

I buy 2 season tickets. One of them is always mine; the other circulates around my family. One of them, mine, will be renewed. The reason one is biting the dust is not financial but rather that none of us can stand Blackwell's mind-numbing hoofball for another season.

I am renewing only out of a sense of duty and a stubborn resolution to defy Blackwell - in the sense of outlasting him. If he were to go a second renewal would follow - a recurring theme it seems.

So, can I have 2 votes please? A reluctant 'Yes' and a conditional 'No'?

I believe McCabe may have underestimated the cost that keeping Blackwell will have on the sale of season tickets and next years crowd figures. Many I know are no longer prepared to put up with the style of play that has become the manager's hallmark and no matter what our results between now and the end of the season they will not renew as long as he is at the club. To date on this sites survey only 56% have committed to getting a ST, and whilst this only reflects the views of a few, if I were the chairman it would certainly set the alarm bells ringing. It's time for a change and the sooner the better.

I hear you chips, but isn't this sort of thread like the first cuckoo of spring? We have the "I'm not renewing" calls but then it all fades away. I fully expect most of the undecided to renew and probably some of the "no's" to renew too.

I think the question of to re-new or not is purely financial.

If you are worried about Blackie been here next season then your fears will be unfounded.

I believe Blackies had a task to carry out; clearing the decks and cutting the wage bill.

I think we might see a new Captain in the wheelhouse with a new crew next season.

First time I might not renew since I lived in Somerset.

BUT it's NOT a protest at KB or at Hoofball or at Squinny or at Monty. I've said it elsewhere in here - I no longer waste my time and emotional energy on worrying about things I can't effect and I actually still enjoy going to BDTBL, meeting mates, having a jar or two and a bit of banter with the opposition fans.

The reason I might not renew is simply financial. I've given in my job cos Lincolnshire County Childrens Services are failing to meet the needs of their rural young people - and I'm starting a new future - but at the mo I don't know how flush we're going to be.

Wouldn't be clever to shell out £300 when we might be skint in a few months.
