This feels like "Da Ja Vous" but here goes, your Dad was a good judge of a footballer. Barrass was slow and ponderous but managed 3 full caps,2 in succession in'51 then missed 8 and a final one in'53. England tried 5 centre halves plus Barrass between '51 and '54-Jack Froggatt-Harry Johnson-Sid Owen-Clark of Chelsea and Ufton of Charlton. They eventually settling on Billy Wright a converted wing half, which is what Joe Shaw was and he never really got a look in. Joe was as good as Wright but was a street better than Barrass.
