Ah Captain Pugwash and his friends Roger the Cabin Boy and Seaman Stains. No way you would get away with that now.😀
You're right. And to think I watched it all those years and never picked up those innuendo's.

On a related note, I suspect "Captain Blade" is based upon the "Captain Pugwash" character.

Yes, Bill Punton. Fulham 1 (Clarke) Blades 1 (Jones) FA Cup 4th round February 1967. Both teams wore same kit for replay. We won 3-1. Birchenall and Punton (2) the scorers

I'm on that....After Mick Jones goal, the camera pans to the railings at the top of the terrace where all my mates and me were on the those railings celebrating...
13 years old and on the loose in London, unchaperoned 🙂....what a free and uncluttered childhood we enjoyed back then.
Always up to summat....😉

Title says "26th April 1962. Sheffield United goalkeeper Alan Hodgkinson chased down by Leyton Orient wing half Gerry Ward, at Bramall Lane."
Looking at photos of Leyton Orient's home matches in their only season in the top division (1962-63 season) I found one of them playing Wendy (see below) and the ground is the same as your photo so your photo was taken at Brisbane Road, not Bramall Lane. 26/4/62 is the wrong date. The match was played on 8/12/62 and match ended in a 2-2 draw. Your photo is a good one!

Always thought Leyton Orient wore red shirts in 1962-63 season but after a check, I now realise they wore blue shirts from 1946 to 1967!

Totally agree. The quoted date on the picture title doesn't match with any dates on the "11v11" website.

Not a photo, but I do love the paintings that this artist does.

Does anyone know the building to the far right, next to the Norfolk Arms and in front of the Town Hall?

Also the one to the left at the front?

Lectric company on the left. I've seen that before. Not sure of the other, I thought it might be the corn exchange, but this picture is drawn from where that was
