I think he’s been great in most games but that was poor from him yesterday.

He is obviously not the best option.

But I find the description of his defensive abilities as ‘atrocious’ to be unfair and disrespectful to one of our own squad players who has had some great games for us, as we have climbed to where we are.

We will clearly have to disagree on that one and leave it at that.
It’s a shame that everything is reduced to black and white judgements on this forum.

If he could score 5 or 6 goals for us though, on top of everything else he does I doubt we would keep hold of him for long.

As this season goes on and the two wingbacks become more like PL players especially Stevens this is my fear. We've got the best defensive record alongside the Champions of Europe and we dont want other teams eyeing our defence. Remember what happened with Naughton and Walker ! Although the team was in a different place then we sold two of the best fullbacks in the country. Look where one's journey took him.................although really happy with his comments post MC saying SUFC come get me.

I have to say that Baldock has really surprised / impressed me by how well he has adapted to the Premier League but yesterday highlighted his 2 biggest development areas - ball watching and composure. The camera view from the West Ham end clearly showed that he didn’t respond to Snodgrass’ run until the ball was passed to him and he could have scored 2 if he had placed them instead of trying to blast the ball.

But, that said, he helped to create our goal and he’s great at getting into the advanced positions, so it’s simply a case of working on these areas in training rather than looking to make changes.

I think Norwood should have picked him up.

I am just hoping that Baldock's foot is ok .He had his foot trod on hard enough to hear him yelp on tv.
If he was just going for a foul he could have just rolled around but to hear that yelp I am worried it might have done some damage. The top of those boots have as much protection as house slippers not enough to protect from studs.

PL commentators were saying atthe time he was making a meal of it and taking the mick, ie when he was ready to go back on and still grimacing a bit "look he's up you watch next minute he'll be running on the pitch as though nothing happened". Muppets.

I thought the same thing initially and, to an extent, still do but the footage showing Baldock jogging until Snodgrass receives the ball is quite damning. They look to be almost level with each other when Snodgrass starts his run.
