The game against Orient was a meaningless end-of-season game, but it really felt like a big moment - the hand-over from one generation to the next. Both youngsters looked outstandingly good. Have there been other similar occasions? Tongue, Jags and Monty must have made their debuts close together. There is something special about a group of youngsters emerging together. Except when you sell them...
I don't understand that comment. They did well the day Hulse broke his leg.
I had a season ticket in the BLUT (my dad's workmate's son used my ST if I am at boarding school) but for some reason (cant remember why) my dad and I sat in the John Street stand for this Newcastle match. Here is the colour photo of Newcastles kitBelieve this Newcastle kit was lemon shirts sky blue shorts, poor mans Brazil. A'l not se nowt abart MM, photo says it all. Can you pick yourself or anyone in the crowd?View attachment 63354

Well spotted young man, what a great photo that is, shows all the passion involved but has humour in it. Just looked for it but can't find it at the moment. The policeman is the miner on the photo from the miners strike, the one face-to-face with a real copper, and wearing a toy hat.

Would this be Barnardiston Rd, leading to Darnall Rd., off Staniforth Rd with Cravens behind the camera?
I don't understand that comment.
Looks like a Northern Soul night, German style.
Had my 18th birthday party in there.....always a great night out. It was also a great Saturday lunch pre-match session watching those naughty strippersApparently, back then the DJ would play soul, motown and then the live band would come on and play traditional Bavarian folk music. Bit before my time, but some on here will remember it.
Herr Sykes and his Umpah Band if Bert's memory recalls correctly.Apparently, back then the DJ would play soul, motown and then the live band would come on and play traditional Bavarian folk music. Bit before my time, but some on here will remember it.
Sadly, there is no longer but when it was around presumably it would have been a tad bigger than the afore mentioned one.Is there a ShawsBigToe……..that's all!
First class take by McAllister especially on his return, two year recovery, and David Webb challenging. He took no prisoners.QPR 1 Blades 0 in October 1975. Sirrel's first game as our manager. McAlister's return to the 1st team since Rodney Marsh broke his leg 2 years earlier. Jim Brown got injured in the 2-0 home defeat to Stoke a week earlier.
Rab Howell came from Travelling People I believe. Brought up tough and I bet he had quick feet, skipping around and through the opposition.Rab Howell not wearing shinpads!
Blades 1 Man City 1 in January 1975
