Graham was left back, played for England and Castle Market Rovers, Sir Len was right back. Different kind of players but both excellent. As was Cec Coldwell who Len took over from. Saw his first game against Leyton Orient alongside fellow debutant Bernard Shaw.

The game against Orient was a meaningless end-of-season game, but it really felt like a big moment - the hand-over from one generation to the next. Both youngsters looked outstandingly good. Have there been other similar occasions? Tongue, Jags and Monty must have made their debuts close together. There is something special about a group of youngsters emerging together. Except when you sell them...

Would you rate Graham Shaw above Len Badger ?
Sorry missed your post initially. Yes I would but the margin is small. Both were class acts and a pleasure to watch and if asked to pick my all time Blades team they would both be in. It's subjective, just my opinion and if there has to be a definitive reason then five full international caps.
