OK, I’ll start. Monday night v Arsenal, on the QE2, now a floating hotel in Dubai (not a shameless holiday alert, just an overnight on the way back from China). The rooms are surprisingly spacious, but there are only about 200 of them, whereas the QE2 carried 1700 passengers. As a consequence the rest of the huge ship just looks and feels empty. It has bars and restaurants and non-residents are welcome, but it’s location in Port Rashid isn’t great for passing trade.

The game was on in The Golden Lion pub on the Upper Deck, a plastic replica of what non-Brits imagine a pub should look like, but rarely does. It was populated by a group of travelling thespians, one Gooner and me. The Filipino barman spotted the very subtle cross cutlass badge on my shirt and wished us good luck. At the final whistle he came over, said well done and shook my hand. I felt my role had been peripheral at best, having consumed a couple of pints of £10 Stella and a plate of nachos with beef, salsa, cheese and soured cream.

The broadcast had the Sky commentary, but with Keys, Gray and Tim Sherwood as the studio pundits. At half time the discussion started with how to pronounce Mousset, they felt it should be Mousse-set. Clearly, research isn’t high priority for these lads, it’s pretty insulting not knowing enough about a player to grasp the pronunciation of his name. The discussion didn’t rise much above that level.

Just watching the Sky coverage now and at half time, Patrice Evra achieved a spectacular use of 13 “likes” in one sentence, all entirely superfluous. He does speak highly of us though (he “likes”us I suppose you could say).

Towards the back left hand side of the kop. Great seat and believe it or not, I wouldn't have swapped places with you 😜

Pre match - 4 pints and a greasy chip butty - plenty of salt and vinegar and tommy sauce.

At half time fighting through the hoards queuing for their pie and bovril, making my way to the bogs at the bottom of the kop.

I don't get this. The thread title suggests you are watching Tranmere Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers but you're banging on about United? Oh, and that was DEFINITELY a shameless holiday plug. ;)

Monday night in a pub outside Bognor Regis, only person in until three lads came in who turned out to be Chichester players (one was the goalie, came out when we discussed the Liverpool game).

God they looked young (19) but they were buzzing about the £36K the club had 'won' for the bye.

Apparently the club has had £82K out of the cup this year and the first decision the committee made Monday was to donate some money to Bury.

That was impressive and all three seemed so proud of that. Only response I could muster as the Blades played on was to comment that that lot on the TV (Prem club's, not just the Blades) don't seem to have given owt, yet we get the money.

Felt it bit embarrassed about that considering how they were buzzing. Please, someone tell me the Prem helped Bury somehow.

Anywhy, they really fancy Portsmouth at Fratton second round.

At the game Monday but watched the highlights mirrored onto Kylie Minogues stomach while snorting line after line of coke off her inner thighs and feeding her oysters while we drank Cristal with Kelly Brook and Kaley Cuoco desperate to join in.

I know Cerberus Blade will already have done it several times with those three and also with several different goddess threesomes, probably in the bogs at the Pigeon and Rainbow or the Tramway, but this is my story.......

Of course he can beat it, Cerberus Blade cuts his charlie with gold dust.

Watched the game alone, in a pub in Barton-Upon-Humber.
Only six, or seven others in there and none interested in the footy. I had a great evening though and came out onto the street after the game grinning wider than a Cheshire cat.

Did Kaley Cuoco join in? If so, do you have pictures? Or even any residue?

WMC in North Leeds. Booted the door down and demanded the game be put on. Dodged a flying pint of Worthingtons and quickly established myself as the main man. Man behind bar duly poured me a double brandy and stuck on our game vs. Chesterfield.

True story.

After careful consideration in the mirror this morning it wasn't the Chicester players who were looking young. ☹️

Historically or are you just talking about the Arsenal game?

I thought it was Mousse-set , as in Moet and Chandon being properly pronounced Mo-et and not Mo-ay ?

Our Chris pronounces it Mousse-set and he's normally right.
