match off

Well pleased ,will be able to go now and half the team could be back

IMO this may not be a bad thing considering the injuries at present.

In town centre gutted guess it's a day looking round least I know way for next time :)

My first thought was the same but just checked and if it's on March 2nd or 9th as looks likely, I still can't go :(

Would be fuming if I'd been going today - why do inspections happen so late in the day? Disgusting really.

Should be standard practice for all clubs to have undersoil heating.
I realise this could be difficult with the cost for a lot of clubs, but, this aint Scandinavia FFS!!

Luckily only live 20mins from ground so no problem. Ok, there was frost on our lawn this morning, but soon gone. The sun is shining and it's as warm as it has been for a long time.

Agree with you Gaz.a championship team should have it although Peterborough dont have alot of money, gutted for the fans who are there,my mate just rang me from Peterborough and he's not happy.

Gutted for those fans who've travelled, but secretly quite chuffed as i wanted to go, but couldn't. Now it'll be a midweek post work booze up!

Awesome.

It's only happened to me once before, and it's horrendous.
You plan your whole week with looking forward to the match, sorting travel arrangements, where you're going to meet fellow Blades in which pub, only for it to be called off 2 hours before kick off.

The FA have got to make improvements with regard to calling these games off earlier. Surely, it was even frostier earlier in the morning??
Do match officials stay overnight in the place where they're officiating??
If so, get the twats out of their pits earlier to call the fuckin game off at 8am if there is any sign of a potential postponement.
I appreciate that it could warm up between that time and mid-day but, it's no consolation when you get there as a fan and then have to turn around and come home again.

100 miles for a (very nice) chip butty.

According to the stewards we spoke to, the referee turned up to the ground late this morning.

We went for a neb and half the pitch is white over... which begs the question: why not tell us about an inspection first thing?

Gillingham is the furthest it happened to me ,early 80's I think ,fuel was a lot cheaper but a lot of todays motorways weren't built ,5 hour journey in MK 3 Cortina (fur trimmed dashboard).

Blackpool v Norwich for me.
The wife's a Norwich season ticket holder and i went along to a mid-week game and the game was called off 15 mins before kick off!! One minute it was dry and literally within seconds it was the monsoon of death!! The pitch was absolutely waterlogged!!
I didn't go to the re-arranged game!!!!!

If that's the case, and the game was called off late because off this then i feel the league had a duty to compensate the fans that have already traveled by refunding their journey costs.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Since when did they give a rat's arse about the fans?

I can see how everyone is pissed off, I'm a posh fan, living in Sheffield who has travelled down on the train for today's match only to find its been cancelled after a pitch inspection announced at 11:45. To then contact the club to enquire about a refund on my ticket as I won't be able to make any rearranged midweek matches to be told it has to be done in person at the ground but everyone is now going home. So it will mean another £30 on the train just to get a refund. We deserve to be relegated as the club is an absolute disgrace and amateurish behind the scenes and today makes me ashamed to be a Posh fan. At least anyone who has bought tickets for the away end will be able to deal with Sheffield United for their refunds.

That's a bit embarrassing, why can't you sen the ticket to them in the post?

Bastard - got to within 10 miles before some fellow blade flagged us down.

UTB

I don't know a huge amount about the situation at Posh, but your chairman comes across as being utterly ridiculous. Even when you were flying up the divisions, the alarm bells rang every time he opened his mouth.

This season seems to confirmed the fears.

:(

Nowt wrong with the chairman at all, we wouldn't be here without him, and by that I don't mean the championship. But the office staff are the same ones that have been there for years, and don't even get me started with a certain Mr Fry....

I heard the stories about Ferguson being sacked ,the Tom Williams ,Qpr one.Is it true ?
