We’ve now seen our side able to compete at this level even at the very highest level. CW and AK have a style of play that’s very difficult to beat and creates chances with an ethos that connects with the fans.

Now the only step to improve and move forward is from above in terms of player recruitment. First and foremost it’s for the board to provide funds to improve this side in both boxes as CW mentions.

Then it’s down to our recruitment side to spend the money wisely. It’s a big transition point for us at SUFC in January. Arguably the biggest in our history. The performances show we can be a mid table side if we improve in certain areas.

JTW is always a difficult window to operate in. I’d expect a couple of additions, but think the more significant movement will be in the summer if (massive if) we stay up.

Jarrod Bowen could be a good target.

Out of contract soon, so Hull might sell him cheaper or risk him going for nowt.

But yeah, Jan, ideally we need to sign 3 players at least imo to strengthen the side.

Where do you think strengthening is needed?

For me, CB, Forward and if Hendo drops another clanger... GK.

Ideally, a WB for cover in case Baldock gets injured.

Don’t take it for granted that we won’t be tested in January, we may have to do our best piece of work in the window by securing one of our own players..

Wilder wanted a box to box midfielder before the last window closed and didn't get one. I'm starting to see why now. With him playing the flat midfield three he wants someone who can do both the defensive role and the Duffy role during a match.

Freeman offers one of those but not the other. Norwood sits too deep to be used in that role and Lunny and Fleck are trying to play that role but aren't creating enough chances to do it effectively, albeit yesterday was Liverpool. Fleck seems the likely candidate so far given the Soton game.

So I expect Wilder to try to sign a creative box to box midfielder. I'd feel more confident with at least one more centre back and cover for Baldock.

we’re a lower mid table side already ;)

Any additions will have to be replacements.

We have a full 25man squad so in order to add we would need to move someone on

Leon was brought in to the squad in September so if assume he will be cut as may Bryan.

other than that I don’t see who else? Maybe Morrison if he doesn’t break into the team.

Guess 3 would be a busy january
