What do you think the solution is Barry? How can the club allow blades with less than 500 points to buy tickets and at the same time exclude visiting supporters from obtaining tickets for home areas and at the same time make sure that tickets for deserving fans don't fall into the hands of touts?

I'm in the same boat as you and I agree. Rather than ask a number of rhetorical questions on the issue, what system do you think the club should put in place to address the above?

The 500 point thing is to stop away fans getting tickets and causing the problems which would damage the PL 'brand'. You know, the same brand thatsjust written us a cheque for c£200m...

If that means a few bandwagon fans miss out, then I'm prepared to put up with that and it seems like the club are comfortable with that trade off too.
There were no restrictions last year and no away fans in the home end (pigs, forest, leeds etc) so what’s your point?

And as I’ve just mentioned you can buy a ticket after landing from Mars for Chelsea and last time I looked they were in the Premier League???

Let blades with points buy a ticket it’s not fuckin rocket science?

I made the point way back in this thread that for the Palace game General sale didn't start until Friday when they took to Loyalty Pts restrictions off. You can't say tickets are on general sale if 500pts are needed. General sale should mean anyone with a purchase history regardless of loyalty points. It is ridiculous that a season ticket holder can't buy a ticket for one of his kids to see their first game. I'm just wondering how many people have in the past taken their young kids on occasional visits to the lane and not added their names to the data base meaning they don't have loyalty points despite attending a number of games.

Err my point is (for the hard of thinking out there) is that the PL brings its own rules and way of doing business. Have you tried buying tickets for other clubs? You can't just land from Mars and buy tickets at other PL clubs...

Rather than find something to criticise the club, maybe focus on the positions you miserable bunch of cnuts

Yes you can sunshine done it this year for Chelsea away👍

I’ve also bought tickets at Man City, Man Utd, Spurs and Liverpool in the past no problem!,

There were restrictions last year, Leeds, Wendy and Villa to my knowledge all had points restrictions, definitely Villa because I bought my Dad a ticket.

Think it was 200 points, maybe 150.

Man Utd I had to buy membership, Spurs, Liverpool, City just registered online, pig game last year you just had to be on database, anyway we’re going round in circles, why can’t a blade with 300 points not buy a ticket for Saturday?

Because they haven't got enough points.

You can’t buy one a mate of mine as tried and they’ve said cos Leicester have sold out they won’t lift restrictions, unbelievable Geoff’s!,

But as I’ve said, the casual fan would have attended 5 games in the last 15 years. It’s not that hard. The vast majority of games will sell out. Would much rather a casual blade fan get a ticket rather than someone who just wants to pop along to see Harry Kane.

Some Blades have a better chance of sitting on the lower tier in the Bramall lane end instead of the designated home sections and it’s cheaper, have a think about that for a minute. 😁

The ticket section on the website wasn't updated to reflect that you didn't need any loyalty points . Unless you had seen the news bulletin from the club it looked like 500 points were still required .

Imagine when the big PL clubs tip up, they will sell out their allocation in minutes, then their fans will try to get get a ticket anyway/anywhere they can.

How should the club try to prevent this.

Sell them to anyone who claims to be a Blade yet has not been to the Lane in the last 5 years.

I agree but why when there are loads of seats left do they stop a blade with 300 buying aticket? Do you think Man Utd turn casual fans away?

Tickets will likely sell out for the bigger games.
This about the lesser games and making it easier for fans to buy tickets.

Leicester’s sold out, we’ve got 2/3K left why not let blades fans buy these tickets?
X

I take your point with regards to Saturday and there’s little doubt the loyalty point system has its flaws but it’s difficult to have sympathy when that fan with 300 points had the opportunity to attend 2 extra matches in the last 15 years or in particular the last three. We have supporters on here who live at the other end of the country or even fly in for games who qualify. Generally speaking I doubt it will be an issue for the vast majority of home games. I doubt it will get that low if it isn’t televised live

There are loads of blades (for whatever reason) with less than 500 points. The blades with more than 500 points have had the chance to buy.....Now with 2/3 K left can’t they let blades with less than 500 points buy?

Where have these 'fans' been for the last 10 years ?
Now they all start complaining.

I am sure that the club can come up with a solution to ensure that new, young or casual blades fans can acquire a ticket by a relaxation of the 500 point restriction whilst excluding Leicester fans from gaining access to home areas. Membership, Palace ticket, Blackburn ticket, both or a certain number of points? What would be your solution?
