Like I said , not released so not turned green yet
There's 5 green - only one this morning but, like I said earlier, the girl in the ticket office told me this morning it was sold out. I was sat near there a lot last season and wouldn't be surprised to see quite a few junior footballers up there!

If they wanted to get a ticket they could have got one
I did
You do realise that you have to be on the club's database to but a ticket anyway wether you have points or not and that if you allow the 26000 season ticket holders to bring along a friend the ground would be at 150 percent of its capacity ?
How do you grasp that concept ?

Right.... the ticket policy says you need to have 500 points

Joe bloggs the casual fan decides to become a blade and goes to the last two home matches last season he wouldn’t have 500 points.

Because of the 500 point rule he now can’t buy a ticket even though there was spare tickets that he could have bought on Saturday and it will be the same Saturday.

Just cause one person has only been to a few matches doesn’t mean there less deserving of a ticket than other people

If you can just ring up and ask for 500 loyalty points then the whole thing is pointless.

If that's the case then they're prioritising kids. Which is what you want.

For me, that's the weak link in the system, new, younger fans, which is how we increased the fan base last time we were here.

I'm not really bothered about adults who didn't even amass 500 points last season, let alone in the years before then.

The other problem however is that with so many season ticket holders, even if kids tickets were made available now, it's unlikely that there would be a seat next to their parent anyway.

I didn't have any points until last Friday and I was there

It was an adult who said he rang up and asked for 500 points and got them.

There are spare seats not being sold.....

There were tickets available without points Saturday. They didn't all sell.

Rather than it al being a cock up, maybe the club had an idea this could happen but decided to prioritise those who'd built up their points over a number of years. No growth obviously until capacity is increased but a likelihood that those who stuck with the club will continue doing so.

At what point though? When their category of points comes up? Or if we don’t sell all tickets at 500 points?

If it’s the former, then someone with 40,000 points can get a ticket for his kid who’s never been before in front of me, who’s been supporting them for forty years.

If it’s the latter, someone with 40,000 points has to wait to see if we sell out at 500 points before he can buy a ticket for him and his kid.
They can buy their ticket at 40,000 points if we don't sell out he gets to buy his kid a ticket and switch seats to sit with him. He may be in BLUT rather than say South Stand but it encourages the next generation.

So 5000 lucky season ticket winners get to take their friends or foreign visitors or youngsters who may or may not enjoy the occasion while everyone else watches on an illegal stream at home

Yeah, that's correct, they get to take folk interested in watching United who don't have the requisite number of points to obtain one under their own steam. After about 3 games they then have enough points to look after themselves. Piggy-backing on ST holders is a foolproof way of ensuring tickets don't fall into the wrong hands. Foreign visitors? Really?

He could have bought one on Saturday. Some of these distraught fans didn't bother. You know the game was on Sky don't you?

I'd say someone with points earned in the lower leagues has more entitlement than someone who decides to watch when we play in the PL.

Wait until we play the very top teams. Be uproar and some still won't have 500 points. .

But that was to do with Palace not selling. It wont happen very often.

Exactly. But when it did, the tickets didn't go despite the claims we'd sell out if tickets went on general sale. Plus it was on Sky.

they can't be that interested or they would have been before and if they're only interested now we are in the prem I don't see how they should get a ticket over someone who has been going to one game a season when we've been shit

Your right about juniors but as BU2 and BU3 start selling out as I fully expect by Thursday , They will start releasing more on BU1, think its to do with that fire escape

Is that what was said?
It was me I had heard that memberships with less than 500 points wouldn't be able to get a ticket so I emailed the club
I've been a regular since division 4 but over the last ten years I've not been able to go that much due to work and when I do go friends or family have bought my tickets
I told them my previous addresses and they bumped me up to 500 points
The club wants fans in the stadium ,they were refunding people's memberships and allocating them enough points to get in
If anyone really wanted to go they could go
I was behind the scoreboard and there were plenty of seats ,why didn't these people email or phone the club and try and buy one ?
Do they need a season ticket holder to do it for them
Can't be that bothered

The casual fan cannot get a ticket
Even general sale is for 500 loyalty point holders, and only 1 ticket per person
Sorry but our loyalty point scheme (fair or not) has been going for approximately 15 years or so now. If, in that period of time the ‘casual fan’ cannot be bothered to go 5 times (100 points a game) how the fuck can they be called casual? Basically they just don’t go to football matches. If you can’t muster 1 game every three years (and let’s be honest, even in the dark days we had cup quarter and semi finals and play offs) then you don’t deserve the opportunity now. Those who have lived far away or extremely young fans may be an exception but there’s plenty on here who have to travel great distances and still have over 500 points

Those aren’t the problem fans who we need to sort tickets out for, it’s those that have been acquiring tickets through the friends and family feature that need helping out.

If they were on the FF system why won't they have the points?

It’s not a competition to see who’s the bigger blade , if a new blade wants to come and watch there first match in the premier league they should be allowed.

And yes there wasn’t a restriction on the points , only after palace had not sold out two days before.
It was widely advertised that you needed 500 points like it is this weekend as Leicester have sold out.

I don’t understand why any blade would begrudge a blades fan the opportunity to go watch the match.

It’s also batshit mental that the club are doing this aswell , fair enough make sure peopel are on the database but 500 points is daft there is no logic behind it

The casual fan is not trying to get tickets for Chelsea away.

It is a home game there should be no restriction what planet are you on

Well firstly the club have explained the logic behind it. It may be flawed but it's pretty logical. Had there been Palace fans in the home ends there'd be uproar. And no doubt trouble.

No bigger Blade about it. The club has prioritised those with most points. Again, flaws but a free for all isn't the answer. Anyone with 500 points or a superdraw membership could have got a ticket. One poster used nous and got his ticket yet he seems to be the villain for some. Even though he was on the database.

I wonder how many who watched the game on Sky will get a ticket for Saturday.

New fans may well stay on after "touring". The vast majority of our fan base increase last time was kids who loved it and despite relegation stuck with it. (Many of whom have more points than you despite being younger). However, as far as adults go I'd rather someone who wants to see United get a ticket than someone who's main idea is to see Aguero, Kane and the like.
