This is my only real concern.

If this season's squad has last season's togetherness and mentality, we stay up comfortably.

But while we've not spent crazily and randomly enough to be accused of 'doing a Fulham' and have been measured with our recruitment, we have still brought in 9 new faces, and lost some key figures. The gelling period combined with there being fewer games in the PL provides a challenge - we need to hit the ground running with half a new squad. A particular challenge is ensuring our system continues to function without Duffy - we have great talent in that area but replicating his impact has proven easier said than done.

Hendo, Jags, Osborn and Robinson are all ones who'll fit in seamlessly. Hopefully the others do as well.

Lot of productive work on the training pitch to be done in the next couple of weeks.

The right side of defense looks very vulnerable to me...and our pre-season has heavily involved a player that couldn't get into our Championship side...and it looks very likely that he'll be starting on Saturday. Add to that the player who makes us tick has been shipped out on loan.

Robinson and McBurnie look like good signings, but I don't think we've strengthened the starting 11 enough...it just looks like more strength in depth, which I don't think will be enough for this league.

I'd wager a pint that Lundstram does start on Sat in a flat mid three at the expense of an AM. We may see Freeman later on in the game especially if Utd are behind.

RWB was the weakest area of our defence for me last season and it hasn't been strengthened. As for RCB, are Besic and Jags replacements for Basham? I'd say they're back ups for Basham (Besic is prominently a midfielder)...so I don't think that position has been strengthened at all.

I hope you're right about Lundstram, but he's played a lot of pre-season minutes...I wouldn't be surprised if he started on Saturday.

Each to their own NGE. I think CW will look to keep it tight in the first half and start with....

Personally, I always feel Utd look a far better side when an AM plays so would play Freeman for Lundstram. I'd also start Sharp instead of McGoldrick.

I think we're maybe one light on the right side of defence but what a fantastic window, we've got a couple of quality players for every position, a couple of multi-position/ utility types, kept a core group and had a defined strategy of "something to prove"

Going to have to stick up on Panadol because there'll be a selection headache every week.

Some promising signings but without having kicked a ball in the Prem we have no idea whether this was a good transfer window or not.
Nagging feeling we're going to regret letting Duffy go.

On paper we have a much stronger bunch of players than we had last season, and we have a management that in all likelihood will turn them into a much stronger team than we had last season, but will it be strong enough ? that's the scary bit, because only time will tell. But I've got a feeling in me water that this could be the start of some thing really big for us, so hang on tight you lot because the seasons big dipper ride starts this Saturday...…..

Duffy departing was a real hammer blow even though it was half expected.

And was there any real need to sign Besic and Verrips? Seems like we're over-egging the pudding just for the sake of it. Strangely, both very Warnockesque signings from Wilder.

Nah that’s bollocks.

Duffy leaving is slightly sad as he doesn’t get to make a few appearances from the bench, we’ve upgraded in three signings for his role.

The other two signings today were also improvements in the areas they cover. (As long a the Verrips signing doesn’t give the league and F.A. an excuse to jump on us.)

I don't think we will see Lundstram start a league game this season, yes he has played in warm up games against teams in lower divisions, but I think he has shown against stiffer opposition he not up to it yet. He has been played while our new signings settle in, in my opinion ...…....

Disagree especially about Verrips who could be a master stroke. He's 6'5 which is 3 inches taller than Hendo and is still only aged 22 so can only improve and is talked about as Hollands no 1. Not sure about Besic but he is a step up from Lundstrem as the holding defensive midfield player
and can also cover at right back or even centre back so could be a good signing. My Everton mate says hes got a nasty streak which again apart from Fleck we havent got

Excellent window in my opinion. Didn’t think I’d ever see us spend 40-50 million, - especially with the owners in court in May.
I feel weve got enough to compete and will stay up. Which if we’re honest we’d all take. Grade: A- from me.

Well we are not at the stage where CW can go and pay mega buck for established Premier League players so the ones we do sign are those who have a bit of a risk to there names and young Championship players who were the best at their clubs but have to potential to get better and take the step up. Some will make the grade some will fall away as long as most take the step up we will be alright.
McB and Robinson look to be cracking signings to me both gave us problems for the last two seasons Only seen the rest on Youtube clips but from what I hear Ravel Morrison could be a revelation if we can get his head right.
If Carlsberg did transfer windows eh?
I'm still nipping myself just to make sure I haven't just dreamt Sheffield United have just spent over £40m on talent, youth , pace and quality as well as a bit of Premier League know how.

People have written basham off since he walked through the door. I personally think he'll make many eat humble pie again this season. No other CB we have can get up and down as well as him. He's also a darn good crosser of the ball.

Defenders seem the weakest area for cover but Wiki says Besic has played there in the past. As you said, Stevens can play back there and I suppose so can Lundstram. I'd fear for Stearman but he has that wealth of experience and I reckon we'd play with a Back 4 if he was called upon.
