Would've been delighted with that at the start.

A significant amount without going crazy.

It's bang on the top end budget I had in mind.

I think we would've stretched a bit further as well if the right deal was possible.

Think there'll be something there for January but with a bit of luck we won't need it.

“We’ve spent more than Chelsea.
We’ve spent more than Chelsea
Na Na Na Na Oi
Na Na Na Na Oi”

I agree with those who predict that Dean Smith will be the first PL manager sacked this season

We played arguably the best football in the Championship and have strengthened whereas Norwich have barely spent a penny.

I really don’t get how we’re usually predicted to finish bang bottom below Norwich.

Only difference is they've brought in a few big loan signings. But yeah, I don't know either

They play continental football so they should be ok

That’s absolutely mental by Villa but just shows how far behind they were last season more than anything else I think.

Because the 'experts' have very little knowledge about us or Norwich, they checked last season's final table and saw we finished 2nd behind Norwich so obviously we will finish bottom behind them

I find it baffling that Norwich haven't spent bought in any defenders. They were a cullender in The Championship - in fairness, they could get away with it with the attacking fluidity they had but you'd still think they'd have spent a few quid trying to rectify. I think they're in for a tough season.

So Chelsea, who have been punished for breaking the rules and placed under a transfer embargo, spent £40 million on transfers this window.

According to the rules, which appear to be silly, they are allowed to buy players who were already on loan before the embargo was enforced, so that is where the £40m comes in. It should be noted though, that they had outgoing transfers of £148m.

I can't understand it either but it gives me a lot of hope that we will be above them.

A "net spend" table would be interesting. For example, Liverpool would be minus 32 million. With this season`s Sky money plus 32 million unspent so far, and with their squad, what a strong position to be in.

Matt Le Tissier also predicting us and Norwich to go straight back down, with Villa beating the drop by one place.

If Norwich stay up having spent £1.1m then fair fucking play. Hats right off to the German porn star

"Because they play great football and we are very direct" - quote from Danny Mills every single day this week

It's not how much you spend it's who you sign. There are many examples of clubs spending big money on players who turn out to be shit and vice versa. Classic example is last season we signed Didsy for nowt. The big question is can the players we bought (who are Championship players) step up to the PL? Let's hope so!

I know spending money is no guarantee of success, but do Norwich really think they are the finished article? By their own admission they got lucky with free transfer Pukki last season. Surely they don’t think they can do it again?

You have to speculate to accumulate, that's what we've done this season I think CW has spent wisely none seem a panic buy. Let's just see how he get's them playing we will ruffle a few feathers this season, people forget before Chelsea & Citeh got money they were shit and fell off the coupon regularly (young uns ask yer dad).

My prediction is Norwich getting rinsed this season. They were leaky last year and won a number of points beyond 90 minutes. I think they’ll take a few dickings
