Now that Harry Maguire has signed for them an ex Blade will be playing for them next season. I can't remember that happening in the last 40 years I have been following United.

Slightly related note: Stewart Houston dropping down from Manure in the top half of the First Division to the lower reaches of the Third Division would be unthinkable now. He were in his thirties by then but still absolutely unthinkable.

When he’s proclaiming his undying love for “United” We’ll all know who he really means......

Alan Kelly? Not sure if he actually played a game though

I hope he calls them Manchester United and refers to us as United.

That'd really piss Newton Heath off.
I wouldn’t put it past the lad. But I think Harry’s a bit more diplomatic than that. He’s a real son of Sheffield and is it more than a coincidence that all clubs he’s chosen are all easily commutable distance from Sheffield?

Yeah, a player where you can say without doubt he won't move somewhere just by the length of the commute from the S20 area.

But, which one?

Think about it.........

Yeah I remember that chant - "two Andy Goram's, there's only two Andy Goram's".

Medically inaccurate (mild schizophrenia he had I think, which is not actually the same as a multiple personality disorder) but it was funny 😀

James Wilson has somehow played 15 times for man united.
Think Steve Bruce is the only other one

Just thought back on what I posted above earlier and decided to clarify (and I know this isn't the mental health thread) that while I thought the chant was funny, of course in no way is schizophrenia or any other mental illness. Schizophrenia often ends in suicide and we have friends who have lost someone in that way.

I think the OP meant going from us and then on to them and Harry apart, I can't think of anyone.

Coming from them to us off the top of my head

Houston
John Connaughton
Twiss
Bruce
Coffie
Wilson
Goram
Mark Todd
Paul Parker

Must be loads of others

Oh yeah! Never thought of that, the reason he's gone to arguably the most famous club in the world is because of its comfortable commute to his mam's house.

The big rumour when we signed Houston all those years ago was he was on 10k a week, never had it verified the reason I mention it was we were poorer than church mice at the time.
