CW will have a selection headache, which is a good thing in a way, ahead of the 1st game at Bournemouth.
Presuming we play with a front 2 and a No 10 he has 8/9 players for 3 places.
McBurnie,Sharp,McGoldrick,Mousset,Robinson,Osborn,L Freeman,Morrison and maybe even Duffy at the minute.
Who would you play?
I think McBurnie and Morrison or Billy and Freeman or McGoldrick behind.
Will be interesting!

Morrison isn't a striker

I imagine that Osborn will be LCM or LWB rather than upfront. Not that LWB isn’t attacking but I don’t think he’ll we a regular in the front three.

Is Billy now fifth choice?

McBurnie / Moussett / McGoldrick / Robinson / Sharp?

I can't see us changing formation to wingers anytime soon. I think McBurnie and Robinson will be the two up top, start of the season I see McGoldrick and Sharp as back up until Moussett gets his fitness up.

McBurnie & Sharp up front.
Freeman in behind (or Duffy IF deemed good enough and IF the relationship can still be salvaged).
Robinson, McGoldrick & Morrison on the bench.
COYRAWW!!!!!!!! Getting excited now . . . . . . . . . . . . . Unless we suddenly start selling of course (and not meaning the likes of Holmes, Evans, Carruthers etc.).

Moussett may well be 'conveniently' injured or not fit enough for the first game (not that I'm suggesting there might have been any kind of 'gentleman's agreement' or anything . . . . . . . . ).

Competition is absolutely needed. Each one will know they need to be bang at it to keep their place each week.

This can only be good.

Hopefully- mousset gets some more minutes at the weekend. He’ll need to be fully fit to get past robbo and mcburnie.

Think all five strikers have they're strengths and weaknesses, can see them all rotating throughout the season depending on the type of game (all I'm sure Wilders already figured out)

I'd personally start Sharp and Robinson the first game, with Didzy and Robinson against Palace

McBurnie will be on the bench at Bournemouth having only had about 10 days with the squad.

Which won’t be enough.

2 out of 3 for the front 2 positions. Robbo, Bill Dids.

Freeman or Dids in a straight shoot out for the 10, if we play one away from home which is far from certain.

A flat CM 3 incorporating Rav or Lunny is also a distinct possibility here.

The odds on favourite for our most prevalent front 3 this season has to be McGoldrick, Robinson and McBurnie.

Mousset's made it easier for Wilder initially by not being fit enough. He might have an uphill battle.

My understanding is that its only Morrison who needs bringing up to speed so I expect to see Mousset & McBurnie up front with Robinson behind them. Jags will be first name on the sheet, its a toss up whether its Egan or Bash who makes way for him. It will be difficult accepting Billy making way as it would seem to be the right thing to do for him to lead the team out. Maybe Wilder's reserving this for our home opener which would be OK.

I think it will be more or less the players that got us up, probably without Duffy and depending on how others have done in pre season.

I don think we’ll be too defensive against Bournemouth. They’re very open and play from the back so I think we’ll press them high to force mistakes.

Ditto that... I don't see any being definite starters... last season we saw Billy dropped at times when he was in form and understandably there were a few baffled faces, however, madine and hogan came in and added completely different dimensions to the team when required against opposition

(sometimes this came off well, other times not so much... launching balls into madine comes to mind)

Every attacker will play a role... and they will be at optimum performance levels as they will all have fresh legs, vital in PL. It gives us options when injuries hit too, something we've lacked in the past few seasons.

He may have 2 different partnerships up-top

McBurnie & McGoldrick and Robinson & Sharp. Mousset may have to prove his worth to take one of those 4 places.

I feel Robinsons pace to get in and around the back will help Sharp no end.

McBurnie and McGoldrick's technical ability on the ball could just make some defenders spin around in circles

Interesting line-up. After splashing the cash on 8 new signings, only one new face in the starting 11. Some commentator somewhere would accuse us of not taking the Premiership seriously.

Mousset - Not had much of a preseason. Don't think he will be ready for the first game
Freeman - I think we will play without a CAM most of the time when playing away from home.
Jags - Backup IMO
Morrison - Backup and hasn't had much of a preseason after the slight injury.
Osborn - Backup
McBurnie - Will likely have only been here a week, I don't this he will start week one but will almost all leagues games going forward.

Robinson & Henderson starting.

The only change that I could see with that is Freeman for Lundstram.

Man management. You give the opportunity to the players who got us up. If it turns out they’re not good enough none of the other players have an issue about them being dropped. Dropping them without giving them a chance so you can accommodate your new signings can start to turn players against you.

It’s a bit of a change from:

What’s the size of CW’s budget?
How many players do we need?
At least ten...fuck off, at least fifteen..😀
Who can we sign?
Why haven’t we signed anyone yet?
Jags, yeah, but his legs have gone, good job he’s still got hands..
OK, we’ve signed Robinson, but that’s not enough, ffs....
Ravel Morrison, fucking hell...
Mousset, who the fuck is he then?
Osborne, never fucking heard of him
McBurnie....HOW MUCH??

....and now it’s...how are we going to fit them all in?

...................Henderson...................
........Jagielka... Egan ... O'Connell........
Baldock ... Norwood ... Fleck ... Stevens
.....................Robinson.................
....Sharp.... Mousset/McBurnie

I’d go with:
Henderson
Basham Egan O’Connell
Baldock Stevens
Norwood Fleck
Freeman/McGoldrick
Sharp Robinson/ McGoldrick
Subs:
Moore, Jagielka, Osborn, Lundstrum, Morrison, Robinson/ Freeman, McBurnie;
Can see Wilder going with a flat 3 though with Lundstrum sitting;

Hendo
Basham Egan JOC
Baldock Norwood Fleck Stevens
McGoldrick Robinson
McBurnie

Subs: Verrips/Other, Jagielka, Osborn, Lundstram, Freeman, Mousset, Sharp

Spare: Moore, Stearman, Bryan, K.Freeman, Ravel, Duffy

And that's before we sign Matt Phillips anyone else.

Our squad is basically too strong.

Within just over three years our manager has grown from League 2 at Northampton with an average League 2 squad to the Premier League with weekly selection headaches due to riches in all areas of the pitch, particularly the forward areas.

I think the team will have to protect the back line against speedy counter attacks the like of which we are not used to. Therefore I reckon we will be more cautious than last season. We will play more counter attack ourselves and will have the players to do exactly that. We do not have natural ball winners in midfield so we will hold position with discipline.

When the forward players get their opportunities as sub or first choice they will be able to give it full throttle because there will be a strong bench. Stronger than I have ever seen in 63 years watching us.

Bring it on. And a big thank you to those two owners.

Henderson
Basham - Egan - O'Connell
Baldock - Norwood - Fleck - Stevens
Freeman
Sharp - McBurnie

Subs: Moore, Jags, Robinson, Osborn, McGoldrick, Morrison OR Duffy, Lundstram

Attack 'em, have a right go and show these so called experts what we're all about - and if we get done now and again because of our expansive style / approach then I'll accept that . . . . . . Just so long as we have a right fucking go, get at the opposition and don't sit back and invite teams on (give THEM something to worry about as well!) . . . . . . . . . COME ON YOU RED AND WHITE WIIIZZZAAARRRDDDSSS!!!!!!

Personally think he’d go with McB (assuming, well, you know) and two no 10s, probably Robinson and another.

Fleck and Lunstram won't start
