Topplayersleave I agree with you about the pathetic intolerance to alternative opinions on here (and in general these days) and how it's fine for the 'positive' posters to insult you but not vice versa.

But I think you're shooting your bolt early about our spending. We've only done about half our recruitment and probably still have another record signing to come.

I think we're doing more than could have been realistically expected and our business won't come close to warranting any sort of derision. The minimum spend will likely be £40m.

This deal has been agreed since May, delay after delay as painstaking talks drag on.
Looked all agreed, agent not happy, frustration all round.

Hopefully things will get resolved next week, but don't hold your breath.

Surely if Hendo wanted the deal that bad, he'd ask the agent to make it happen? I'm all for patience but the fact is our preparations so far have included a keeper that isn't going to be a regular for us. We need to stop fucking about and force the issue. If Hendo and his agent are happy to bench warm and maybe get thrown a few cup games, crack on. We'll bring someone in who wants to be here.

Hope so mate
We need more, and more of the right quality, the only bright note so far is we've got Wilder and that's our jewel in the crown.
But Bassett, Warnock and other good managers all the way back too John Harris can't perform miracles forever. It's alright coming back down and on paper being stronger to have another go the following year, but if Wilder likes being a Premier League manager we might lose him and then the squad without Wilder's miracle working isn't good enough

Robinson's an excellent signing, don't underestimate that one. A serious improvement to our attack.

That's why we have to stay up - Wilder. We can be as strong as we want squad wise, but if he leaves, we're fucked. It doesn't bear thinking about.

But I'm confident he'll have the squad to have a fantastic chance of survival. It's the least he's owed.

Sorry but I haven't got a clue what that crap means.
Post in English. With letters. Vowels and consonants.

I’ve just posted in English. With letters. And vowels. And consonants. And you still don’t get I was taking the piss out of the emoji users. Waste of time.

'intheknowjis' as they seem to be on twitter. Just a load of shit.

As much as I'd love Deano back, this has dragged on too long. It's gone from Wilder saying he was confident of a deal to him saying we might have to explore other options within the space of a few days. We can't bend over for Man U and agree to develop their top prospect for years for 50 grand a week, they should show a bit more respect. As mentioned by a few other posters I'd be offering cash plus a loan to Cardiff for Etheridge

I have said before this deal needed to be sealed by today we cannot keep fucking about. We need to go and get a permanent keeper and forget about Henderson. Thanks for last season and all that but the lad is deluded if he thinks he will get any game time at Man U, it just isn't going to happen they will not pay a keeper £350k+ to sit on the bench just to keep Dean Henderson happy. Why should we pay all his wages and a loan fee to develop a Man Utd player? Sorry but it is way past the time to move on. This deal is dead we have 16 days to bring in one or preferably two new keepers.

If we pay the figures that are being banded about , it will be about £100,000 per match , which is a Mick Jones every match , bloody agents ,

I think it’s a case of young impressionable lads placing their trust in an agent. And if you were in that situation and your agent had just got you a (minimum) 50% pay rise, would you doubt him?

I don’t doubt for one moment that Henderson wants to be here, but he’s not going to jeopardise his career with Man Utd for that is he? Not until it becomes apparent he doesn’t have a career there.

No. We have 14 days. Deadline day is 8th August.

They’re taking the piss, give them while Friday. Then look elsewhere. Who do they think they are ffs

No. Not while friday even. Get a permanent GK in now,2 if need be. & let Henderson stay at Man Utd. If he were as desperate as he makes out to come back he would have forced for the move.

I take your point but my only concern is to how this may possibly be affecting our preparations. For me, it's time to shit or get off the pot.

Needs to be here by Barnsley, if not to play, to watch, and needs to play in Reims definitely.

If not that he can stay at Man U, get on twatter and put 🔜🔛🛋️

I want him here but we need a first choice goalie asap because Moore gave me the shits in the Championship.

I think Moore is decent tbh. But not top drawer. I wouldn’t be concerned about him starting the season for us, but if we can get an upgrade that would be great!

Manchester Evening News are reporting that we've given Man Utd a deadline otherwise we'll look elsewhere
The Man Utd fans find it hilarious that we are dictating what they should do with their own player

It's hilarious that we're offering to pay their players wage for a season, and give him 36 Premier League starts he'll get nowhere else, and they're fucking us about if you ask me.

Utter bellends.

Yes, and that's why I said we should have quelled our interest as soon as he went fishing for a better contract at Man Utd.
Many Second or Third or even Fourth choice players at these clubs move on and build a career, then eventually end up back at one of the big clubs, but Hendo wants it all now.
His massive contract now makes it more difficult for him to even get a loan move

We've wasted 10 weeks of our time chasing this when we should have just gone elsewhere

Looks like Henderson will be the only loser here. Plenty of decent keepers about, and their age is not so important for just one season.
