Sawyers would probably be competition for Norwood and Fleck. He’s played a lot deeper over the past season or two.

WBA after him. His boyhood club. 3mil apparently.

Thought he was more fanny dangle. 3m is nowt for us now I suppose.

Lets not pretend, Hendo was the finished deal either.. was suspect on back passes (and not just the Leeds gaff) and his distribution wasnt exactly top drawer.

What Hendo was good at was those miracle saves which is exactly what Hart was superb at also, both have their brain fart moments but just so happens Harts are more high profile.

Would prefer Heaton, but honestly don't think we would be losing much if we get Hart instead of Hendo at this point.

Hart was found out when the game evolved to require a keeper to be good with the ball at his feet!
Up to then I thought he was a good keeper. But I believe his confidence is shot.

I say we fuck Man U off. Shit for Hendo perhaps, but he’s as much to blame if he ends up stuck at Man U reserves, I can’t see many other prem sides offering him a spot with those kinds of fees!! Said it earlier but if he had belief he was good enough he would have pressed to leave Man U and looked to get a move away permanently for games.

As for Sawyers....all I can say is where the feck are all these good players going to play? We are perhaps one more striker, defensive cover and a keeper away from a very very strong squad. And I can see the side evolving in the first 4 months to the point where several of the last seasons stars are out of the team. Those at risk are Sharp, Didsy, Duffy and Basham! With maybe Baldock, Fleck and Norwood all pushed too!

I only see Egan, Enda and JOC from last season as pretty much certs at the moment.

But Jesus...what a difference 3 years makes! £17m transfers FFS!!!
What the fuck is happening?!?!

And when you consider the Henderson loan could cost £4.5m if we pay what MUFC want...

Heaton will still require wages though.

We are gonna have to try and come to some compromise on hendo I’d say. We can have hart as our keeper in the year of our lord 2019.

Heaton on a permanent would be pleasing however. Proven at that level.

And yes, I’m finding it very unlikely we would sign McB, Maupay, Robinson AND Mousset!!
Fees costing £55m if reports are correct!

That’s just incredible for my team, and without Maupay it would still be £35m!

Now I know Freeman was pretty much free due to the Adams clause, but add Osborn, and the likely arrival of 2 more and spending is probably going to be around £44-£50m...assuming we don’t get Maupay and the deal is deffo off. Plus wages will be at LEAST doubling to the £40m mark.

If KM has agreed that I will be amazed, i would have thought it more likely we were spending £30m at the most. Do we think the Prince has been a little more influential?

I would still have Maupay (if he decided to come) even if we had already signed OM (my first choice)

You can never have too many decent strikers but I feel that NM is not going to happen now.

OM
BS
CR
DM
LM

Some decent partnerships could form from those 5 players.

Update. Keep saying it but Osborn nearly done, few little things to tidy up and it’s done. Very confident McBurnie will be in early to mid next week, £17.5 million. Maupay seems dead as he cannot make up his mind and appears to want to wait and wait for what he considers better offers. Henderson being delayed by Man Utd’s demands, he’s signed a new contract on £50k a week and they want us to pay the full amount plus a £2 million loan fee. We’ve said we can pay the wages and that’s it. They’re trying to recoup some back for the big wages they’re now paying De Gea. We’ll go elsewhere otherwise with Joe Hart and Tom Heaton as top options. A top flight Dutch keeper will be coming in as no 2, not sure on name yet. Interest in Romaine Sawyers now it seems they’ll accept a low fee, though there’s one or two loan options been looked at for a midfielder. Friendly on 3rd August will be Stade Reims away.

The Cadette has spoke . Cheers fellow for the update . Appreciated as always 👍

My simplified take on this whole thing is, Prince did have the cash to splash (contrary to some reports saying he had no green) but was unwilling to do so for the type of players we were signing last year (even tho it obviously worked lol)

Now we in the prem and looking to sign higher profile players, he is probably a little less tight-arsed on keeping the war chest locked up...

Bar anything joe Hart related - seems to be positive news. Still feel hendo should be done once Man U realise they are limiting his development by blocking things. But if not Heaton could be a good shout.

Fuck maupay off if he doesn’t want to be here. Mcburnie would be a good fit for me.

Osborn adds depth as would a second experienced keeper.

Sawyers I feel would be good value for that outlay. Though imo using the loan signing (potentially 2 available if we’re sacking hendo off) on a midfielder would be good - we need someone to really make fleck and Norwood play for their places.

I’d be tempted to loan a midfielder and look to defence too if there are 2 loans available

GK is either Vorm or Stekelenberg then!

Edit: epl dutch keeper or eredivisie gk?

Hart is shite now. It happens to most players. They decline. There’s a reason he’s had 3 clubs in 3 years and ended up being number 2 at all of them before long. Nobody is saying he has always been crap. Thanks for your time.

Arguably one of England’s best ever goalie joe hart is have him but would rather Deano

He ended up as number 2 at Burnley because at the time defence they put in front of him was dogshite if we could put a decent defence in front of him he should be capable

Don’t quite get this Maupay situation.

Surely McBurnie comes in and it’s done? No need for Maupay? But it seems as if he decides to join us we would sign him too?

We have more to spend than most think. Maupay is being a dick end and is doing himself no favours. Hope he ends up staying at Brentford and regretting making his mind up when they're in the bottom half again.
