Bit worrying McBurnie could potentially be over a week away, a lot can go wrong in that time.

We are those two signings and a couple of loans away from being a very very good side... but this Deano saga is getting scary now. We need him or someone of his calibre signing up asap.

Sawyers makes sense if the Duff is off.
Still would like him to stick around til January at least to see how it goes.

Update. Keep saying it but Osborn nearly done, few little things to tidy up and it’s done. Very confident McBurnie will be in early to mid next week, £17.5 million. Maupay seems dead as he cannot make up his mind and appears to want to wait and wait for what he considers better offers. Henderson being delayed by Man Utd’s demands, he’s signed a new contract on £50k a week and they want us to pay the full amount plus a £2 million loan fee. We’ve said we can pay the wages and that’s it. They’re trying to recoup some back for the big wages they’re now paying De Gea. We’ll go elsewhere otherwise with Joe Hart and Tom Heaton as top options. A top flight Dutch keeper will be coming in as no 2, not sure on name yet. Interest in Romaine Sawyers now it seems they’ll accept a low fee, though there’s one or two loan options been looked at for a midfielder. Friendly on 3rd August will be Stade Reims away.

I really like you.

This very much validates my theory on previous posts that Maupay and Agent are waiting for someone to come in that has probably expressed an interest, but not firmed this up with an offer; one of Palace, West Ham or Villa would be my guesses. Probably has offers from ourselves and Brighton. They're probably gambling that either one of us will still sign him on deadline day if the offer they're after doesn't come through.

Would be great news if we did sign Sawyers. I rate Norwood very highly, but he does sometimes have stinkers and I still worry about our lack of athleticism through the middle. Some teams just ran through us last season. I've been championing Sawyers and Fer for a while. Both relatively cheap and would give us something we seriously lack.

Hope you're right regarding Osborn & McBurnie. Our stance on Henderson is correct. Heaton would be a cracking alternative. Not Joe Hart.

Shame about Duffy, he's been with us on this journey all the way, I would've liked to have seen him get a go but there's no room for sentiment.

Thanks for the info.

Sawyers would probably be competition for Norwood and Fleck. He’s played a lot deeper over the past season or two.

WBA after him. His boyhood club. 3mil apparently.
