A few things here:

1. I don't fault Henderson for trying to get as much money as he can. Big clubs toss players away quite easily.
2. I can see why Man U would want us to pay a substantial part of his wages as we're a Premier League club and it's basically benefiting us a lot more than them.
3. We really need to sign our own keeper. We can't keep relying on loans. We're not going to pay silly wages so much harder to loan when in the top flight.

I would say its benefiting Man U more than us by letting them see if he's up to the Premiership without any risk to them.

Clearly we know, I mean look how many people have said it, everyone on here is ITK and I went for a beer with hendo last night and he told me

He shouldn't be drinking this close to the season start, and shame on you for encouraging him.
I have sent a strongly worded letter to OGS, don't you worry about that .

Agree, they need him to play in the PL next season.
Maybe other PL clubs have made contact with Man Utd and offered to make him their number 1 and pay his full wages but I doubt it.
Also I agree that currently Henderson probably isn’t even average PL standard, his high value is based on future potential.
He’s currently a bit of an unknown quantity at PL level.

Hendo ses when this thread gets to 1,000 posts he will think about it!

I don't understand the logic tbh. We get a £10-20 million player for a proportion for the wages whilst they could quite easily loan him out to the championship. Not a great amount of difference for a keeper. shots are shots. Sure, you're playing at a higher level week in, week out, but I doubt it makes a huge difference to development. There are very few players who go out of Premier League loans. Tend to be the real high end.

There’s a big difference between PL and Championship, in so many different things, bigger crowds, bigger pressure, higher class shots/ headers etc
If it’s the same shots in league 2 using your logic he could go back to Shrewsbury in whatever league they play at for his developement.

Also no Championship club could afford to take Henderson on loan, unless Man U continue to pay the bulk of his wages.
Actually I don’t think the loaning club pay any wages, they just pay a loan fee direct to Man U.
If we’re struggling to pay the loan fee, then a Championship club has no chance.

The fact is Man Utd would prefer him to play regularly for a PL club next season.

I think whether the loaning club pays a fee, the wages or both is all down to the agreement that is struck.

Man U would expect a lesser fee from a Championship Club, for obvious reasons. We are a Premier League club and if we're loaning a keeper from them they'd expect us to pay most of the wages We have the (TV) money. They know that. It's a huge benefit to us. They'd prefer him at a Premier League club, although that puts him more in the public eye and could cause them headaches in terms of wages, but it would be no great loss if he wasn't. Whilst we get the England U-21 keeper.

Very few players get loaned out from Premier League club to Premier League club. Mostly by Chelsea.

If it's not sorted imminently it's time to move on. He isn't worth paying the kind of wages Man U are probably paying and they are within their rights to say we should pay all of them if we're going to play him week in, week out in the same league.
Hopefully Wilder didn't put all his eggs in that basket and there are other options being considered.
Either way, we'd need another goalkeeper next summer as we're very unlikely to be buying him permanently.

It'll be his agent demanding £75k a week, and as we all know, football agents are cunts.
Kk

Why do people keep saying this ?
Read the thread there are reasons he hasn't signed and it will all be concluded soon

I mean wilder has literally said it’s not progressing at the required pace. He’s not happy with the negotiations and we need to protect ourselves.

Do we really want to go into the next season with worse goalkeeping options than we had in the first championship campaign?

1,000th reply.

Can I have some reward money?

Maybe Henderson will donate me 0.01% of his new weekly wage. I'll chuck it into the pot for McBurnie.

No - cos I’m one was the 1,000th ;)

I’d also be will chuck it in the OM pot.

If DdG signs a new deal, where does that leave him anyway?

6 years on 370k let week, that takes Henderson to 27 before he even gets a look in.

He may as well look for a perm with buy back deal.

I agree, he has not immediate future at Man Utd. And he's clear he wouldnt want to sit on the bench and play the odd cup game

No footballer ever really runs out their contract these days, DDG will leave next season or one after, all the contract is, is an insurance policy so he will become world record gk signing when he goes to RM.

Where this leaves Deano i don’t know, it is a roll of the dice on who’s manager then too

This logic makes no sense re. DdG, seen it a few times. If he was so desperate to go RM he'd have forced a cheaper move this summer or gone for free next year.

RM also have a 65 million quid young GK so I doubt they'll be on the look out anytime soon and need to spend money elsewhere

If he goes for free 10% of nothing is nothing.
His leech will have reminded him that money will be no object for any club that wants to sign him. Therefore he engineers a bigger transfer fee and 10% of shitloads is shitloads

Jesus Christ what a non-story. Wilder states obvious, World loses it's mind.

Agents probably make more out of a free transfer. Everything gets inflated due to lack of huge transfer fee. I certainly doubt Aaron Ramseys agent is hitting food banks.

I doubt that agents make more from a free transfer. I'm sure there will be a cut from a huge signing on fee for them.

The guy I feel for during all these drawn out shenanigans is Moore.
Why?

He’s a top drawer league one keeper who’s going to get 2 games against Man United whilst picking up premier league wages to sit on the bench. And he’s playing a full pre season.

He’s laughing.

I thought the same too however the explanation could be that they see Henderson as an investment who’s value will only increase.

So they loan him out to a PL for 2 years and if he performs well.
Then in 2 years they either sell De Gaea (who will still be young) or Henderson for a big price.
The key to Henderson value though is he must be getting regular games in the PL.

Wouldn’t surprise me if they sell De Gaea in 2 or 3 years for s massive fee and make Henderson their number 1, assuming he’s impressed in the PL.

Henderson’s Instagram today shows him at Carrington.
He’s clearly back in the U.K.- is it to sort out his contract and then loan?
I know no one really knows- but personally the fact he’s in the U.K. and not away with Man U appears promising

Financially maybe, but surely the point of being a footballer is to play games, improve and compete for the shirt and he knows we’re replacing him one way or another. Henderson could sit on his arse all season for 4 times Moore’s wages if it was just about the money.

Wilder getting twitchy as the season gets nearer.

I still think we should sign Adrian for a year just in case any of a number of things could transpire with or without Henderson.

Moore is not good enough for the Prem and double cover is preferable anyway.

If he wants to play he has to drop down a level. He know's he's not going to play games in the Prem he's simply not good enough.
