‘Can he leave without a deal?’

It’s like something has rotted these Brentford fans brains....

They seem unable to comprehend a fee has been agreed in principal! Obviously it’s not us but he will be leaving this summer

Apart from deeply ingrained Bladey Inferiority Complex, why is it obviously not us?

I just think going from what RC Said LM was the most direct maupay alternative.

There’s no inferiority complex about accepting villa are operating (rightly or wrongly) at a different financial level from us. Same from an established PL club.

Personally I think if we were going to strike a deal it would have already happened. Wilder has moved on to someone who clearly wanted to be here.

Not sure signing lys means owt to this, i think we were always going to sign 2. Now we know it won't be maupay and mcburnie but perpaps one or the other

how do we know it wont be Mcburnie or Maupay

That makes sense HOWEVER as you’ve already said Villa have better finances than us and don’t mess around
So as they’ve yet to tie up the deal then surely they can’t be that serious about him.

So using your logic he’s neither going to us or Villa.

The other alternative is that no club is willing to pay 20 million for him (as no club values him that high).
So if BFC stand their ground (like their fans insist they will do) then Maupay will be staying at Brentford this year.
And (again according to Brentford fans) he absolutely loves it at Brentford and the only reason he could be persuaded to leave is for a massive pay rise.

Part of me wouldn’t mind him staying at Brentford, would be interesting to see if his morale suffers and if he can maintain his top form. Also whether the Bees can push for promotion or will it be yet another “flatter to deceive season” where they scrape into the top 10.

If Maupay is average next season with Brentford mid table, then I reckon his value will drop to 10 to 12 million in the January window.

Be the first to buy a Mousset gilet jaune, as modelled by the man himself here. £100 each with a McNulty shoulder jumper free gift.

We are in talks with his agent for Maupay gilet jaunes if he signs. £150 free gift, 100% clean never washed match worn Dean Hammond shirt, autographed by Nigel Adkins.

Apparently he lives it there and would be very happy to play at Brentford next season.

I think he may randomly end up at Brighton.

It looks like us and Villa have been negotiating for ages but neither have sealed the deal, this doesn’t bode well for SU or AV.
Also agree that it seems like he’s holding out for another club and Brighton would make sense.

Bloody hell you’ll be comparing penis size next!

You are a traditionally smaller club, your fan base is smaller and currently you’re in a lower division. I completely respect you for supporting your club as we support ours but really, why do you feel the need to lurk about on our site? This is our thread for discussing our thoughts on transfers. We can be as deluded as we want because this is for us not you lot. In case it’s escaped your attention we don’t care what you think and aren’t even bothered if you’re right. If your site is so much better bugger off back to it and stay there.

Thanks for popping by and goodbye

Can we put this in the twats thread?

Wilder has always made a big deal about only signing players who want to play for us and aren't just coming for the money. Nobody can be sure but we've pursued Maupay for long enough to think if he wanted to play for us he'd already be here.

In contrast McBurnie has made the right noises about ' being flattered by our interest'whilst not burning his bridges at Swansea. I suspect the fact we havent yet had a bid accwpted for McBurnie is what is holding his signing up and when we do he'll be here in a flash.

If he's been 'sent' home again (as the earlier tweet implies) I think there's more to this Maupay thing than just "transfer window fuck about"

I'm guessing (only guessing) that he's unhappy in England, regardless of club.

Could not understand why he did not snatch Sevilles hand off, what a lovely place to play your football

If Villa we’re going to strike a deal would it not have already happened? No difference, is there?

If that’s the true case then we move on . Personally I rate him highly and would have loved to have signed him however we don’t want him if he prefers elsewhere.

We only want people that are proud to play for the SUFC shirt and give nothing less than 100% which our messiah wouldn’t have any other way .

That article’s bollox B58. We've actually signed Mousset just so that Maupay will feel at home at the Brexit club and vice-versa. It’s another masterstroke I tell ya. 😁
I’d like to think this was the case... it would be typical of Wilder’s team-building tactics 🇫🇷 I also like how we’re spending incrementally more on each new signing. Canny 😁

Us and Villa have been keen on Maupay for ages.
Villa don’t mess about and usually get their man.
The facts he’s not signed for us or Villa suggests Maupay has another offer in the wings, which he’s more interested in.
As already said Wilder gives players the “personality test” regards how keen they are to join us.
Sounds like Maupay isn’t convinced about us or Villa, so that’s no problem, we move on.

If true and he has an offer to go back to France then that might have changed his focus.

Why do people believe everything they see on twitter.

I'd be stunned if we didn't break our transfer record again given what's come directly from wilder. That may not be Maupay but the fact we've signed Moussett does not mean our pursuit of strikes is over

Agree, don’t blame him...he has no links or loyalty to us
And one would think he’d either prefer to stay in London playing for a London or stay in London whilst commuting to a south coast club
Or play for a big club in his native France.

However would a French club pay 20 million? Seriously doubt they could afford to gamble such large sums on an untested player.
Still think he’ll end up at either Brighton or Palace.

From what I remember didn’t RC say he had already spoke to Wilder before he had his first leave of absence allowed by Brentford ?? If after his first break he came back and still wasn’t sure or wanted to wait on others etc then time we moved on IMO

Anyone signing Maupay now is a massive gamble. He's had next to no pre-season games, been sent away by Brentford twice. He won't be match fit, and the season starts in 3 weeks.
