Hi do you know if this will still be the case as we missed the early bird deadline but still wish to renew our season tickets??

I think all season tickets are sold now as far as I am aware I might be wrong but I thought they had sold as many as they could now due to having to have so many available to by before the matches etc.

From 9am on Monday 15th July existing 2019/20 season ticket holders can now move their seats. This can be done in person at the ticket office or over the telephone 0114 253 7200 (option 1). Due to extensive building works NO access will be permitted into the stadium to view any alternative seats.

Exisiting season tickets holders were given a date to renew them by. If they missed that then they forfeited their seats unfortunately. Seems to have caught out a fair few.

Season tickets went off sale 26th April. They had been on-sale to current, returning and new ST holders since 20th March.

Due to the numbers sold and the requirement of the league to have a certain percentage available as matchday tickets, no season tickets have been for sale after this date.

Just explaining this to my missus now, who seems shocked that we won't be getting our 2 or 3 visits to The Lane next season, when out of my mouth the following monologue came, "I don't understand why there is a sudden up turn in people wanting to watch us now we're in the Premiership, I would much rather watch us batter another team than get hammered just so I can see some of 'the best players in the world'." Hope we put a bit more into the cup next season .

I've got my season ticket sorted, but had loads of mates and colleagues who aren't even Blades asking if I can help them get a ticket.

Unless they introduce loyalty points for home games we're gonna have loads of tourists. Hate yo think what they would do for the atmosphere

Sometimes people cant afford it, I'd be gutted but you can't blame it on the club. I was well aware as an existing season ticket holder, knowing promotion was on the cards, that they'd gone on general sale and I needed to renew quickly.

Like (obviously) quite a few people, I totally missed that. Didn't matter to me because I renewed mine as soon as they were available BUT I do think that they could have highlighted (maybe in upper case) that a bit more just to make sure that people picked it up and were left in no doubt - or maybe people should read things properly. I suppose I could have missed it because I'd already renewed so didn't have to read it properly.

Don't worry about 'tourists' - we were running at near-capacity last season for home fans.

I agree it's a good place to be. We're obviously continuing to grow our fan base, hopefully this eventually translates to increasing capacity

It's only taken us 45 years to recover from the last time we tried this tactic with the new south stand

After all these are, in the main, folk we should be encouraging.
Many season ticket holders don’t attend all games and either lend their ticket ( not strictly allowed) or, like those in front of us, often leave them empty.
I wonder if somehow a pool could be arranged? You let the club know when you can’t use yr ticket and they pass it on. Maybe charge a fee and pass some back to the ticket holder.
I for one have promised to take my cousin’s lad to his first game when we play Arsenal (his dad is a gooner) but I don’t know how I’ll get a ticket.

I think Man City do something similar where you can "sell back" so many tickets a season albeit for a fraction of their value. I know full well I will be missing at least 6 or 7 home games this season but would sooner have a tenner in my pocket and let someone have the seat rather than see it go empty. Would require a fair bit of work from the clubs point of view but if the lane is to be sold out most weeks would make sense.

The projected ST sales are for 27k - which would mean around 2k tickets available per game which I'd imagine will be sold on a points basis. So not many tourists/students.

Cant be 27k as we have to allow 3k for away fans so no chance we would be allowed to sell 27k season tickets - my guess would be about 23-24k sold which would allow about 3-4k tickets on the day sales and to members. If there is no opportunity for members to buy tickets what is the point of paying the £30 ?

Not sure, it was discussed and speculated on last week, by me. Here’s the way I see it:
33,000 capacity
23-24,000 season tickets sold (source: wilder)
2,300-2,800 away fans (approx on lower tier)

That leaves anything between perhaps 6-8000 tickets unsold.

I think we’ll have to wait to understand what segregation SAG/ SYP want to impose, what allocation the Prem will accept for away clubs and how many tickets we want to put on general sale for each game.

So they may release some more season tickets but I’d guess it won’t be all 6-8k. But again, just speculating

Is it really”not strictly allowed” to lend your st to someone else when you can’t attend? Surely the club would prefer that to an empty seat?

They're technically not-transferable, but as long as you're in the same category of tickets, no harm - no foul.

They also let you upgrade concession tickets a few times a season so the club don't adhere to the non-transferable rule either.

Fox Jr has a season ticket that she won't be able to use but even when we were shit, seats come up so rarely that Foxy thought it was worth the investment to grab it. The seat isn't empty though... someone always turns up to nick it.
