So basically its first team football with us, play for a real gaffer in front of the best fans in the country or a massive wage at at the Shammers/reckless Villa?

My money is on the latter.
 

Will Egan be in Maupay’s ear? Not sure Jack was at Brentford at the same time but it might swing it. Working with a manager who you previously worked with is not a selling point as managers tend to distance themselves from players/staff. Have Brentford just sold a player to Villa?

Would be funny af if we were never in for mcburnie or maupay and wilder just comes up with someone better than both of them for half the price

It's all very childish and I have to say that most of you Bees come across as decent chaps to me but you're always going to get shot at by some of the perennial arseholes on a "foreign" message board.

Good luck to your lads next season whatever the outcome of this little spat.

Brentford away is one of the good away days that I'll miss next season as we are mixing it with the Premier League wankers.

Give me Brentford and QPR for a good day out over Arsenal and Chelsea any time.

I think comments such as 'you can't afford him' were taken (and rightly so) as a dig at our club. I think it's totally understandable that a few on here (myself included) have questioned the intent of the 'foreign' posters on our forum.

You're confusing an act of faith with an act of fact. Offer something that can show why/how your god exists and you might have a genuine intellectual discussion, but otherwise the presumption included in your post just underlines the pomposity that seems integral to organised religion.

In response, can you provide anything that proves you're right, other than repeating the same laborious and ineffective question?

I don't think the question of being able to afford him is legitimate - you're a Premier League side and could well afford him. The question is whether you want to be able to.

With the inferior Che Adams going for £15m - fewer goals, fewer assists, poorer fitness/gets subbed frequently, less development potential, etc. - I imagine the Brentford DoFs have noted a market has been made for them and they're able to price Maupay accordingly. We're in a much stronger position than BCFC.

After him heading home from pre-season yesterday I can't see him staying with us - he's off. The question is do you want to compete with the other clubs interested in him? And given the competition for his signature, is his fee really going to be at £12m? There's no point quoting "up front fees" as virtually every multi-million pound transfer is comprised of an up front fee and then additional guaranteed instalments plus potential add-ons... no one quotes Pogba's transfer as £45m... plus £15m... plus £15m, etc. They just quote the whole transfer fee.

He's made good career choices in the past - choosing a lower wage and division to sign for us instead of BHA initially - but you're up against Villa and they have the massive advantage that Maupay has already spent 18 months playing for Deam Smith. The more clubs interested, the higher the fee will be. No doubt about that. That said, we have previous with WHU pissing about but Villa stepped up and paid the fee required for Konsa and that transfer went through quickly and without a hitch.

Strange that this one keeps on dragging on seeing as you've been so close to signing him for a couple of weeks. If you wanted it to happen, we wanted it to happen and the player did too then this would have been done ages ago. Something isn't adding up here and I doubt an agent's fee of £800k is the issue... as that isn't a big agent fee for £20m Premier League transfers. In fact it's quite modest.

I'd love it if he signed for us. Only because I can imagine Banana would still be posting "no bids have been made" while Maupay is stood with a united shirt on being interviewed at the side of the pitch
 
My only issue with this is that RC is providing very detailed ITK info, he’s again putting his head on the block
and as we know he has an impressive track record of nearly always being accurate, hence he’s earned the trust and respect.

I’m not seeing any detail ITK knowledge from anyone else apart from Blade789 saying a deal has been agreed by all parties and Maupay will be announced as our signing Monday or Tuesday next week, now that is putting your head on the block. Then there’s JLX saying the deal is now off and we’re looking elsewhere, could be true buts it could also be a calculated 50/50 punt and trying to regain their I`TK reputation.

According to Banana, he still insists no bids have been received from any club, which maybe true but (unlike RC) he seems to be in the dark regards negotiations or the latest situation regards Maupay, in fact Banana predicts that Maupay will to be back training at Brentford on Tuesday.

Of course ITK can’t reveal their sources but Banana isn’t actually providing much info, he’s just denying reports and rumours from others.

Think it was from Bill The Bee, his early posts were slightly aggressive/ defensive, which is not the etiquette when you’re a guest in some else’s house.

Regards Blade789's post, I'm guessing that he's basing his info on being told that fee now agreed, agent now sorted and so assuming all good, just a case of now signing on the dotted line, but in reality, said player has a choice of clubs rather than just us and therefore nowt's agreed until it's all agreed
