Scarebus makes good points on this matter. It's not that he doesn't want to be here, just that he'd rather be earning 10x as much in the Premier League - wouldn't we all like that eh?

One thing I will say is that all the reports on Maupay is that is he one of the most professional, focused players. If a move to a PL club doesn't materialize for him this window then I expect he'll just knuckle down and get on with it. He's probably one of the few players that can do that.

Don't forget he turned-down a much more lucrative move to BH&A when he joined us - mainly because he wanted 1st team football. So he has his head screwed on in that regard.

A fair comment. We are the smallest club in our league. We have to do what we can to make ends meet. However I don't think you would argue that we have done very well with our player trading, and done it consistently over the past 5 years.

But to what end though? How much actual progress have you made in the league during that period? It may be a good business model to ensure you’re financially secure but if you become marooned in the championship and show no ambition to try to keep your best players and build a team what’s the point?
You are going to fail to find your gems one of these years then you’ll be knackered.

I would suggest that Bournemouth are no bigger than you and they’re a relatively secure premier league club. When do your fans get fed up with every season being Groundhog Day?
