Roofe, Marriott, Gayle or Mousset then Chris? Or someone else?

Roofe could make a lot of sense, we could again use the injury and contract situation to get a player who would've scored 20 last season for good value. As long as the fitness/sports science guys have no worries about him.

But whatever you do, get McBurnie. Then we'll be fine. I'm glad you took my advice getting both Freeman and Robinson, so don't go and ruin it now 👍
Theres no way we get both.

However if we do, we stay up.

Still can’t see it being Villa given he wouldn’t be a guaranteed starter. Bournemouth are a bit light up top but West Ham even more so. If it’s either of those two then that writes us out of it I think, wages wise at very least. Still think West Ham will look overseas.

In my opinion we've agreed to pay the parasite the 800k because with other serious offers on the table, somebody else only pays it, the parasite gets his money regardless and we miss out.

I also think if Wilder has spoken to him then we have a very good chance. He has his way of persuading players.

But I'm also quite sure he has at least an extra 20k p/w on the table from another club.

🤔 🤔 🤞 🤷‍♂️ 🤔 👀 🤷‍♂️

Posted in the wrong thread : / Update. Henderson and Osborn will be in next week. On Maupay, as stated, the fee nor Brentford are the problem, that’s sorted. The agent problem is also sorted, we’ve agreed his fee, wether it’s what he wanted or he’s lowered his request I don’t know. The gaffer has spoken to Maupay today. It’s now all down to the player as ours isn’t the only offer on the table. Might come down to wages? first team chances? location? ambition? Personal thoughts are we’ll have an answer one way or another by Wednesday/Thursday next week. He was and is No1 target, but if we don’t get him, we move on to other targets.

Cadette is lager’d, I can tell. I am also lager’d. If Maupay doesn’t fancy us, crack on mate and good luck when you play us this season. If he does fancy it, well hello Neal.

Guess we’ve done all we can...

We’ll offer a competitive wage but if villa or who ever just add an extra 20k p/w on we’ll lose out in the end sadly I reckon. Especially if it’s a London based club.

Still think a move to the lane would represent the most obvious first team opportunities for him - not least because we play two up top.

Well, we’ll know one way or the other earlier enough in the window at least and can move on to other targets if required.

I agree, possibly with Bladey glasses on here, but any big money striker we sign has the number 9 and 38 games in the Premier League next year. Prove yourself and it could be a huge career move even if we go down.

Personal opinions I know but,

Hendo we sort of knew

Osborn I see as a squad player

The only way I see it being fantastic news is if the man from Delmonte he say yes

Just good to have some confirmation especially regarding Hendo . He could prove invaluable this season . Top keeper that will only improve further .

Still hopeful on Maupay . At the end of the day the ball is now in his court and if declines then we move on to plan b, or c , whatever that may be .

Bit in paper?

I feel more comfortable knowing that CW has spoken to him. If anyone can sell the club to a target, it's Chris.

Hope I'm wrong but just don't think we'll end up with either Maupay or McBurnie (personally think McBurnie would be the bettter signing of the 2).
Apologies for the negativity but just a gut feeling I have that's all.
Anyway, if this is indeed the case, and we were to miss out on these 2, then I'd hope that we're looking at the likes of Marriott, Gayle, Assombalonga, Diedhou, Austin as potential alternatives?
Anyone think of any other alternatives that could improve the striker dept. and add REAL competition for Sharp and McGoldrick?
Kind of hoping we're still looking at the lad Lenihan from Blackburn too as I think he could fit in with our squad / system too.

Bottom line is that we appear to have really pushed the boat out on this, and done everything that could reasonably be expected, given our limbo situation in the boardroom, and our general lack of high finance. I'm quite proud to be honest, win or lose, it now feels like we have escaped from the doom and gloom of recent times, and we can now look forward with some optimism and genuine excitement. If anyone can pull this off. It's Chris Wilder, my hero. I love you Chris, in a manly kind of way naturally.

I love him in a completely gay kind of way.
