Neal Maupay

I can see your logic but I don't think it's correct. I'm going with the story being bullshit.
Why don't you just ask the owner, you two are well connected aren't you?

Hi Banana, you are obviously ITK at your end. Do you know if there is a release clause in his contract and if so what's the amount for it to be activated?
If there was then there would be no doubt over the fee. Agents ALWAYS know when a release clause is there, typically because they insisted on it going in in the first place. We certainly wouldn't be slashing the price if the price was fixed!

Hi Les, how do you know the actual asking price? Has the club nailed £20m to the mast? I've only seen media quotes on that figure. It could be a lot lower than that when it comes down to the nitty gritty negotiations. For me, I'm not too bothered whether it's £10m, £15m or £20m but our club is and I'm glad that they would be after the best deal possible instead of bending over backwards to the demands of players, agents and clubs.

Good luck for this coming season btw, you and your pals on here seem a decent sort 👍

No, I know the ballpark number.

The Sun bullshitting? No chance!!

In all seriousness I really hope we get Maupay, he’s a fantastic player, for me though £16mil + £4mil if we stay up is as high as I would go.

I'm only responding to questions asked.

Did you go to the rather bizarre mid season friendly v Southampton when Souness was their manager? I still can't get what it was all about Valentine's day I think. My dad took me as I loved le tiss!

And on topic that sun journalist is their local guy for Yorkshire not some faceless click bait reporter I believe.

I hate football agents. They ruin football.

I remember Michael Morgan being one of the Express football reporters in 1970. He must be well over 70 now!

People sucking each other off for zero itk return here. It's all very gay. What happens happens.
I'm covering an extra shift for someone working at pride next week so I'm not homophobic. Btw.
I also have loads of gay hungry black french friends.

If you google his name, then he appears on a video on Sheffield Live that Alan Biggs hosted in March 16.
Morgan says he started as a journalist in 1969 for The Express. He’s worked for loads of papers and says he’s currently a free-lance writer for The Sun.

The way he’s talking on Sheffield Live he appears to be a Blade, so he’s hardly a neutral regards his report.
Also one would suspect that his inside contact, if he has any, are at the Sheff United end
But the way the report is written then surely his contact should be from someone within Brentford.

No you aint and you know you're not. You and the other BS Bees on here have a sway of arrognace, you all talk like you are Maupay's agent by telling us the number we have to come up with to get him. You along with the Blades on here haven't a clue what will and won't be accepted, but I will tell you now, we will not pay £20m plus addons, the same as we wouldn't pay £10m for Luke Freeman. In your world that's game over right? In Wilders world it's very much game on.

Another dim southerner turns up. Afraid you’ve missed the boat LongLostBee we had this argument to death with Lesley and bananrama, you’re a couple of days late

I see, no arrogance from you there at all is there...not at all.

We're just sharing what we know with fellow football supporters in order that we know where we all stand. Most on here seem to be similar to the SUFC chaps I've met at previous games. However I am more than happy for you to ignore me, and s4-blade too.

At what point does this thread get like the Morsy one? Are we at the stage of posting tits yet?

We must be close. I am giving it until midday tomorrow before I let rip with the buster pics.

Doubt anyone is or was going to pay £22m for a striker at a mid-table Championship club.

The thought of Brentford spending £10m+ without any sales is absolutely laughable.

Might not be intentional arrogance but anyone claiming to be “in the know”, with a contact close to the people doing the deal can easily appear to be arrogant.
You can easily dismiss alternative opinions and viewpoints because you can say “yes but I know what’s really happening and you are all wrong`’
Unless someone is highly up the contact chain, then how can anyone disagree with your info.
Also we don’t know the level of success regards insider info your receive from your contact, so you could be a bullshitter having fun.

The thing to bear in mind that you could be setting yourself up for a fall.
You’ve known from the beginning that as you say, Brentford won’t sell Maupay unless it’s 20 million plus add-ons.
So if you do reduce the price then you’ll need to sack your contact...maybe you could speak to them tomorrow for an update of The Sun 15 million report.

Over the years we’ve seen “in the knowers” come and go on this forum, many have bits of specialist info on certain players, assume they must personally know a player, some are just on the wind up (especially Wednesday fans pretending to be Blades) but Richard Cadette has consistently got most things correct, not everything he says happens, but often it does. His level of info suggests his contacts must be at negotiator, manager or director level.

We don't need the cash.
Maybe for the ambitious recruitment plans you do. Plus until your stadium move, you're taking a hefty loss on wages each year.

You've just spent around 11m on Raya, Jansson and didn't you get a midfielder from Fiorentina earlier this summer? These have to be financed somehow.

Maybe selling early gives you better options. You don't know what other plans you have.

We could have held on to September to sell David Brooks. If we had, getting Egan plus others and preparing properly for the season may not have been possible.

Careful you don't discriminate there against the L, B, T's knowsnowt! They've stopped calling it "Gay" pride now because it discriminates against the others who fall under L, B and T. Best get yourself some L, B, T friends as well. There may be even more categories of genders that we haven't heard about yet, so best just be friends with everyone maybe?

Interesting. Why would we drop our price, what does anyone think would be in that for us?
I was selling an old coat on eBay recently. I wanted £80 for it, ended up having to re-list the item and drop the price before someone bought it for £57.

Ermmmm ... 1 of those is incorrect.

I'd love to know which one you think is incorrect? I wrote that before this headline in today's Sun.

There's no doubt we want to buy. There's no doubt he wants to come. I can only assume that you believe you don't need to sell?

That's a slightly more tenuous point. I suppose it isn't critical that you sell, however, finding players from lower league, or foreign leagues abroad, and moving them on for a handsome profit has been your business model for years, and it has served you well. So, I cannot see you abandoning that now. I understand you paid £1.6m for Maupay from St Etienne - so this would represent almost a ten-fold return on your money in a very short space of time. Maupay could stay at Brentford and have an indifferent season next season, or be injured, etc, and that valuation would fall drastically. So, your club will no doubt be weighing all these things up and given what other "similar" strikers are changing hands for (Adams from Birmingham to Southampton) it has always seemed reasonable to me that a deal would be done around £15m.

I also wrote yesterday that I thought £20m was too much but £15m was about right.

I am not ITK in the slightest. I am reasonably intelligent. :)
