Neal Maupay

It's clearly not happening, at least not imminently. I don't know if things have regressed, or it was wishful thinking in the first place, but nothing will get completed any time soon.
Maupay is with the squad in Austria. Nowhere near an hotel in Sheffield. I would put it under clearly not happening. Certainly at the moment.

It’s clearly dead. Long way between Munich and Portugal and no way they could get an easy flight between them.

My point is it clearly isn't as imminent as was reported yesterday. I don't pretend to know how advanced any talks might be.

Time will tell I guess. Brentford want the best price and don’t need to sell cheaply. If Adams went for 15m, that’s the range that’s fair imo.

If we save 5m by waiting them out / not accepting them increasing the price that’s essentially another player we could add - or you pay more of a premium to guarantee the signing.

If someone else comes in an does the deal perhaps it would be a mistake not to get it over the line

It's quite obvious others will be interested in him which is why I've never thought this is going to happen. £15m might be a lot to us but a West Ham won't be scared of spending it.

This only caught light due to what Cadette said nearly 3 weeks ago. The rest of the people talking about have jumped on the bandwagon to the point where they seem to have convinced each other it's a done deal.

This is what I reckon. They’ve probably asked for an extra million or two upfront so they can fund their Jannson deal.

With around £25 million in the bank from player sales over the last two years. That’s unlikely.

I think the 'sighting' of Maupay at the copthorne may have been to get in the head of your pals.

Think it’s more likely that the 2 Brentford fans who got battered on here last night, had it exactly right tbh.

They have asked for more money (which is fair enough from their perspective) and we’ve probably said no. Best chance now is he acts to force the move.

That said the Egan move took a while to happen and he wasn’t one they were desperate to keep

I don't think they are desperate to keep Maupay so much as they want to get top dollar for him. Which is more likely to come from, say, Newcastle or West Ham than us.

Ryanair don't fly to Faro from there, however Eurowings €90 on Monday....

Seems like we’ve had a bid accepted, he’s got
to agree terms etc. He’s still a Brentford player nonetheless and so he goes where the club tell him. We have discussions ongoing with our listed players yet they’re in portugal with us.

You have no right to take our player to Austria, wait until Wilder finds out about this.

PS say hi to Les for me.

As I said a couple of days back someone with 100% solid info told me we haven't made a bid for him. We may have enquired, but no bid.
I 100% believe if he says it then its true.

Brentford's operating loss was £18m in 2018. Without those player sales you'd be in a world of financial trouble.

You need to sell Maupay to balance the books this summer.

From all the 'evidence' (sic) it appears to be precisely the opposite
NM (& agent) content with what we've offered him (them)
Brentford haven't accepted or likely not received any bid from SUFC

I think you need to look a bit deeper, we have someone covering those losses and happy to do so. New stadium next year with extra income. We’re fine.

To be fair, Maupay is contracted to Brentford FC atm, and he's conmtractually obliged to go on their pre season tour. Of course he's not gonna jeopardize his income just for a move to us.

If we match Brentfords new offer, which we will, we'll fly him to England then Portugal.

5000 extra seats doesn’t cover 18 m losses or a £70m stadium
Can see this getting messy tbh

Extra income from spectators?

How many sell-outs do you normally get in a season?

But if a move was close as claimed by the likes of Kevin Gage, he wouldn’t have flow to Austria with Brentford.
