Your Mr Gage then says this morning that Brentford have moved the goalposts, really. A bit of backtracking here. Its now 15:30 Sat and still no announcement from your club, are you sure your ITKrs are just that ?
I can assure you the goalposts haven’t been moved, we don’t work like that. £20 million is what he’s valued at so we’ll get that or very near either from yourselves or someone else if he goes this transfer window. Which is all Les and Banana have been saying , not that he wouldn’t sign for you, again he may well do. As to Banana just getting stuff off Twitter he was joking, he’s as close to the clubs owner and the DOFs as anyone and if he says ( as he did last night ) there’s been no bids. That would have come from them. So rest assured you haven’t placed a bid as of last night. If you get him you’ll be getting a great striker. We will be disappointed if he goes, but we’ll move on and find the next Maupay for subsequently less. As we have with Gray, Hogan, Vibe over the last few years.

This is why people who are genuinely ITK should just keep their trap shut. It may have looked dead on that Maupay was going to sign but things change quickly in football. Gage hasn't helped anything, as a strong link to the club he shouldn't be baiting every United fan out there into a flurry of excitement and then ultimately disappointment when it turns out the deal doesn't work out. Not that the deal is dead because I have no idea, but the principle is still there.

Seems genuine ITK can’t win.

Many beg Richard Cadette for snippets of info but others say they shouldn’t be giving transfer deal info.

I think RC and Gagey should continue giving the info they know but common sense and experience tells us that even if a deal is 99% certain, it still doesn’t mean it will get done.

None what so ever. If Maupay and Mcburnie go through, we could be looking at at least 50m, somewhere between Norwich and Fulham...which I remember being about all Chris said regarding his budget.

Time will tell I guess. Brentford want the best price and don’t need to sell cheaply. If Adams went for 15m, that’s the range that’s fair imo.

If we save 5m by waiting them out / not accepting them increasing the price that’s essentially another player we could add - or you pay more of a premium to guarantee the signing.

If someone else comes in an does the deal perhaps it would be a mistake not to get it over the line

Agree - that said the English premium is probably offset by the fact brum are short of cash.

Swansea apparently want to sell players so who know what the OM price might be.
