Blade, not Bladey.
That’s Jagielka.

It's my opinion that the money will be there if CW wants it, but we all know that Chris treats club money as if it were his own, and any delays/negotiations will be down to him, and not the owners.Me too! I think it would be a serious false economy not to spend £30m on the pair in question. They each have something a bit special about them and at a combined age of 44 (marginally older than Jagielka) there’s a very good chance they’re going to improve with experience. Young, talented, ambitious, hard-working and hungry. Bang on Wilder’s template.
I’m the first to criticise those who are profligate with other people’s money but this is hardly a reckless gamble. In my view it’s relatively low risk; huge reward (another £100m!).
So yes, all in on these two.
Looks like romesh ranganathan next to the steward , we after him or is he playing for Brentford ?
Let's hope you are wrong Nick. Historically, of course, everyone would agree with you, but I'm hoping that things are a bit different now. Clearly Maupay and McBurney are prime targets, and our management team must have had an idea of how much they might cost.If Che Adams went for £15m then Maupay will go for closer to £20m. Brentford are in a much stronger position financially than Birmingham and don't need to sell.
I would love to be wrong but I think people are getting excited over nothing. I absolutely cannot see us spending that kind of money on one player. People really need to be realistic here. The club will probably get slammed when he moves somewhere for £20m, but it's complete nonsense money and I don't think our transfer fees will get close to that this summer.
A reminder: just my opinion!

The gobshite spoke out of turn, got it wrong, and should now be extremely embarrassed and hauled over the coals. He really isn’t helping...
All Premier League and Championship transfers are for nonsense money these days. It’s a fantasy football world but that’s where we now exist. KM himself has said you can’t ‘buck the market’ (that’s a direct quote).
Do you not accept that Maupay is our number one target? Nobody is in the queue to pay £20m for him. Any fee at that level will include substantial bolt-ons that will either be self-financing (goals; Premier survival) or not paid at all.

The Kevin Gage tweets make it abundantly clear, certainly in Maupay's case.I have no idea who our top targets are because Wilder has never said anything... anything else is pure speculation.
I would LOVE IT if we signed him, but it seems so unrealistic to me. Although I say that, but I've just noticed that Maupay is following John Egan on Twitter. FFS![]()
Correct, it is for another place. Never stopped you before mind. His politics are an embarrassment too, but that’s for another place...
removed brentford from his instagram bio
he’s coming.
Yes, I've definitely seen him hosting in the TC suite, not sure about elsewhere. If he ever knew anything then he's definitely delayed it by spouting off on Twitter. I'm no fan of him to be honest. His analysis on Radio Sheffield is laughable. What does he actually do? Isn't he a matchday host in the boxes or something?

Couldn't resist could youYes, I’ll restrain myself. I’ll just say, politically neutrally, that anyone who proclaims ‘views my own’ then posts with approval a video of Anne Fucking Widdecombe. Well...
Spending money comes with the territory when you own a football club. McCabe has held the club back for years. Bad decisions, selling almost all our better players, putting pitiful offers in for players. We didn’t even see him when we were struggling but of course he comes to the fore again when things improve. Only he could have created the circumstances that have led to the embarrassing court case.
And how you can call anyone mind-numbingly tedious is laughable.

Is it a beret and does he have a string of onions around his neck? If so, it’s Maupay for sure. There is a picture doing the rounds of a guy with a cap on watching the game. Some says it's Maupay. You can't tell though really.
Think Gagey ought to sign up to this forum. Would be awesome
Somebody invite him over - unless he prefers to be a lurker![]()
I did nearly type that I thought it was ironic that he was hinting some exasperation at the idea of a deal being agreed by two parties and then one party comes back wanting to amend the agreement, given his support for just that in a different context, but I thought better of it given how this particular thread has drifted off-topic in the past...
