I can’t imagine we’d have been particularly pleased reading Bournemouth fans taking about getting brooks for less than we valued him at.

Always makes me laugh how a club paying a striker say 10k a week that need cash think they can hold out for the same fee as a club selling a striker that is on say 40k a week that doesn't need the cash. The striker on 10k is far more likely to force a move through therefore lowering any fee.

As for the players themselves - Maupay is class. Easily the best all round striker in the Championship. He's a complete and utter bastard to play against as well. Completely fearless. We LOVE him. Properly love him. We don't need to sell him, he might want to go but if he does, we'll get close to our price and £12m is miles off. Although, I would add, for someone show cored 28 goals, he missed a few sitters too and finishing is one of his weaker points. His link up play though is different class.

Watkins. Can be good, wasn't great last season. Could develop but equally not get any better than he is. If we were bid £12m for him, I think we'd take it.

Hi Les. If, big if, we pay £30m.for any two players, it's because we can afford it, and it represents good value for money. If we can't get value for money, we don't buy, simple as that. Our manager spends money like its his money. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. We shall see shortly with Maupay hopefully.

Whereas this guy using the name Richard Cadette gives us actual facts about who we are chasing and the latest situation regards timescales and what’s holding things up. No one has a clue where he gets his top secret info from, as `I said it could be Chris Wilder himself posting.

Obviously he’s not fullproof and occasionally the targets he mentions don’t come to fruition.
He said 2 weeks ago that we are very close to signing Maupay, think he said the current figure was 12 milion plus add ons.
He’s said this type of stuff in the past and no one believed him, posters claiming to be “in the know” tend to receive stick and ridicule on this forum but RC has earned his stripes, he has this annoying habit of getting most things right. Suppose we’ll see.

By the way I like Brentford....think most Blades do...you’re a small club but still manage to recruit talented players playing good football.

Les ignore the insults. I suspect if we sign Maupay and it's a big if, the fee with add ons will be somewhere in the mid to high teens but with you boys covering yourselves with a big percentage sell on clause.That way you are covered if we sell him for 30m in 12 months time

Who knows whether he'll join you (I gather there's not been any bids from anywhere) but I can you tell you this much, anyone buying him is paying much, much more than that. Watkins might cost £12m. Plus add ons. To the poster who thinks that the four player listed would only cost you £25m, forget it. Over £40m would be my number.

So you're saying that over a third of a side that finishes mid table in the championship is worth 40m? Give your head a wobble ya clown.

No club would spunk £20m at this stage of his career/development. Nobody. Not even Villa.
Because although money is silly in the prem, nobody will risk paying millions over value for a player unless you’re never going down or are doing a Fulham! And only 7 teams in the prem are confident of not going down!!
