I'm also struggling to work out how you've managed to negotiate a price without even speaking to Brentford. Unless you have today I guess.
Don’t know why we’re all being dicks to this Brentford fan.
I can’t imagine we’d have been particularly pleased reading Bournemouth fans taking about getting brooks for less than we valued him at.
Imo I think the levels that Adams went for are fair enough to be honest. It’s not gonna be 12 m and it’s probably not gonna be £25m
We might not even be in for him.... knowing wilder it will be someone left field. Hopefully not Austin
Hi Les. If, big if, we pay £30m.for any two players, it's because we can afford it, and it represents good value for money. If we can't get value for money, we don't buy, simple as that. Our manager spends money like its his money. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. We shall see shortly with Maupay hopefully. An honest question then - how do you all feel about buying two Brentford players for £30m? I'm guessing that's going to be a big part of your remaining player budget gone. Two players from little old Brentford.
As for the players themselves - Maupay is class. Easily the best all round striker in the Championship. He's a complete and utter bastard to play against as well. Completely fearless. We LOVE him. Properly love him. We don't need to sell him, he might want to go but if he does, we'll get close to our price and £12m is miles off. Although, I would add, for someone show cored 28 goals, he missed a few sitters too and finishing is one of his weaker points. His link up play though is different class.
Watkins. Can be good, wasn't great last season. Could develop but equally not get any better than he is. If we were bid £12m for him, I think we'd take it.
And how do you know if we have spoken to your Club or not, unless you are Richard Cadette 's southern softie cousin?

Delighted. You’re very good at scouting and developing players. I’d rather us give the money to you than one of our rivals or a PL club that doesn’t really need it. And I’d like to see you finish above Wednesday and Leeds this season. An honest question then - how do you all feel about buying two Brentford players for £30m? Or PinchyScooter_mcgavin wahts odds on Les being outed as a Pig?
Pure guesswork on my part that as of yesterday evening no club had spoken to Brentford about Maupay.

Me too. Also, what Brentford could sign for £30m would be impressive, given Maupay cost c. £1.6m.
So you're saying that over a third of a side that finishes mid table in the championship is worth 40m? Give your head a wobble ya clown.Do you really think that we would sell Maupay for £12m. Really? We sold a 20 year old centre back, with add ons, for £16m in January. Your loan striker Hogan went for £12m 3 years ago to a Championship club.
Who knows whether he'll join you (I gather there's not been any bids from anywhere) but I can you tell you this much, anyone buying him is paying much, much more than that. Watkins might cost £12m. Plus add ons. To the poster who thinks that the four player listed would only cost you £25m, forget it. Over £40m would be my number.
We might prefer to take our money this season thanks.![]()

I'll have a bet with you.
Not so convinced, he's got a fair few posts and didn't sign up in Jun 2019.Scooter_mcgavin wahts odds on Les being outed as a Pig?

I'll give you 10/1
1/5 he's a numpty though.
One thing Brentford do need to be concerned about, is someone popping up and buying their scouting network off em
Just curious = you know this how? You work for the club or just read twatter and forums like the rest of us?Pure guesswork on my part that as of yesterday evening no club had spoken to Brentford about Maupay.
Why not? its our patch we'll do what we want.
£30m for him and Watkins, I thought.Where’s £30m come from?
They will get less than £20m.
Most likely £13m up front...£2 if we stay up...£2 if we stay up again and 20% of any profit we make on him.
No club would spunk £20m at this stage of his career/development. Nobody. Not even Villa.
Because although money is silly in the prem, nobody will risk paying millions over value for a player unless you’re never going down or are doing a Fulham! And only 7 teams in the prem are confident of not going down!!
