Fact! Spending loads of (other people's) money ALWAYS makes a better team.
 
Well, I'm not saying it's right, but 3 txts of 3 different people, saying, "expect news on Maupay today". I'm hoping these chaps are right, but we will see in due course.
 
I hope these three texts about Maupay aren't saying he's not coming but if that's the case your information will be correct BB

I wasn't fully aware of his poacher instincts either. He can come here and learn from the king too.
 

So, what he will need is plenty of quality service into the box. Which means we will also need to control midfield to be able to get high up the pitch, and we then need someone with the vision and touch required to get quality crosses and threaded passes in behind defenders.

Any more at Brentford worth looking at?

You do know Brentford are a mid table championship side.
Buy all their players and that's where we'll end up. We need to cherry pick not do a discount for quantity deal.

I watched him quite closely in the game at The Lane. His movement was brilliant all night but they never seemed to find him with a pass.

Got a feeling he will do very well in our system if it's him.

Scoring goals is not their problem, only 5 less than us last season. Keeping them out is the issue for them.
 
Would this be our biggest transfer coup ever?

Spending what it would take to get this done and not being gazumped by richer clubs would be a serious commitment and quite a slice of luck too.

Hopefully it's too late for Villa, Sevilla or anyone else...

Sheffield United looking at Maupay
Promoted Sheffield United are trying to pull off an audacious record swoop for prolific Brentford striker Neal Maupay.
French forward Maupay,22, smashed 28 goals for the Championship Bees last season.
Now United boss Chris Wilder is trying to add him to the Blades’ squad to take on the Premier League.
Wilder has already broken the Bramall Lane club’s transfer record once this week bringing in Luke Freeman from QPR.
The undisclosed deal eclipsed the £4m United paid for John Egan last summer from Brentford.
But any move for Maupay will smash that figure.
Brentford are believed to be demanding well over £15m for the forward signed from St Etienne for £1.7m in July 2017, which has cooled rival interest from Aston Villa.

I think everything is falling into place for us to get Maupay AND McBurnie.

Freeman - fee largely covered by Adams sell on.
Jagielka - coming available on a free, likely accepting average wages to return, saving us looking elsewhere at more expensive cover.
Henderson - loan
A N Other - loan

Players such as Fer also then being available for free.

Leaving a large pot of money for said strikers.

Like I say, falling nicely into place.
