Regular? They conceded 3 or more 3 times before Christmas.

He also started their 1-0 home win against Arsenal and played the full 90. (scored too)
Was brought on to shore things up in the 4-0 thumping of man poo

He only started 7 games, 4 sub apperances and in those 11 games, Everton kept 7 clean sheets.

Can all juggle stats around to make them appear better than they are...

You should be an MP.

I've stated this since the thread started... I'm very much for this. The knowledge he will pass on to the younger lads will make all the difference. Don't be too hasty to write him off for his physical attributes either.
The prodigal son returns! Welcome back Jags!

Ironic if we announce him today.

12 years to the day he signed for Everton.
... or planned?

*meanwhile at pinchy's*

Bladey...Bladeness.... Too... Much ....

NOOOOOOOO

I can't moan about this. I love the fella and, in a team inexperienced at this level, he'll be useful in the dressing room and on the pitch (albeit not week in, week out). His lack of pace will be less of a worry in a back three, too.

Having not played the game to any type of standard, I’ve never really understood the ‘good influence in dressing room’, ‘good experience in dressing room’ argument with players whose star is very much on the wane.
Genuinely- how does this experience tangibly manifest itself in improving others?

How does one agree to an emotional return?

Will he be holding the shirt weeping? The GCB blubbered hysterically out of his trembling gob?

JAGIELKA SET FOR BLADES RETURN
Phil Jagielka
looks set for an emotional return to his boyhood club Sheffield United after 12 years away.
The 36-year-old centre-back, who was released by Everton this summer, is set to join the newly-promoted Premier League side, Sky Sports News understands.
Jagielka left Bramall Lane when the Blades were last relegated from the top flight in 2007, spending all of those 12 years at Goodison Park, where he established himself as an England international.
Sky Sports News reported earlier this week that he was training with Burnley to work on his fitness levels.
Manager Chris Wilder has been hoping to get some new faces in before United’s pre-season training camp in Portugal next week – and they signed Luke Freeman from QPR on Wednesday. Former Manchester United and West Ham player Ravel Morrison has also been training with the team and it appears Jagielka could also be on the plane to the Iberian peninsula.

Look like Jags had a clause in his old contract that he would only play for us in Premier League

Seems a bit of a KM signing. Appreciate he’s experienced but can only see him as cover for Egan and we have that already, ok I think he would be an upgrade on Stearman but there are surely more pressing positions we need to recruit for

Anyone who doesn’t see this as an excellent signing clearly has a lack of football understanding. Jags isn’t the usual 36 year old, he’s looked after his body extremely well and is a model professional.

I’d have been disappointed if we didn’t sign PL experience. We need it for the behind the scenes as much as on the pitch.

Not the same level I know... but Maldini played for AC until he was 41 - can Jags be the Maldini of Sheffield? I think so...

The way I see it is that Chris wants to give our main back 3 every chance to prove themselves, and why shouldn't he? They were the best defence in the Championship last season and logic suggests they should at least be competent at the next level up.

By bringing in someone who walks straight into that back 3 he completely undermines what they did, why not just trust them and sign a vastly experienced PL defender, who loves the club and will give 100% every time he is called upon, which like a certain Mr Stearman might not be that often.

Let's be honest, not too many more players with Jags' experience will be a] available for the price [just wages] or b] be prepared to play a back up role. This is a low risk, lowish cost and potentially high reward signing, if his experience helps to sure us up at crucial times.

I would like to see a younger player come in and push the main back 3 of course, and maybe we still will, but Jags is in no way a detriment to us and he won't be here for long anyway.
