If Billy Sharp is coming back to the lane I hope the blades have got somebody over there watching how they play him and how he needs feeding.
Do we want him back?

Hes a doncaster player at the moment and this is a Blades category, he's doing well. Leave him be, he doesn't fit into our style. Doesn't mean we aren't a good team..
All hes doing whilst being at Doncaster is upping his sale price.

Eh?
Sharp will be 24 in Feb and his contract is up in the summer. How can we possibly get any money for him?
He has definitely got another season after this one.
I cant believe how many fans could not see we was not playing to his strengths ,
Always knew he was good enough at this level and knew he’d do it at Donny sorry to say it but were not good enough at playing real football slackwell has no idea of how to use wingers so he won’t get the service he needs and deserves.
If you would like to see Billy back at the lane scoring goals then Blackwell has to go.
We can’t have both.
Takes a good manager to get the best out of good players haven’t seen this yet from Blackwell seen a lot of under performing.

why should we restructre an entire TEAM which was working well enough without him, to suit his inability to do anything other than run about like a headless chicken?
His "absolutely exceptional" record of one in two with the giants that are Rushden and Diamonds and Scunthorpe? Oh please. See my comments in the other thread.
How many times has he scored this season, against a team that finished top half of the Championship last season?
[Edit] I'm going to answer my own question. I make it three times, against the huge, massive teams Bristol City, QPR and Sheffield Wednesday, who finished 10th, 11th and 12th last season and aren't exactly pulling up trees this year. Cutting it at this level? Really? Scunthorpe? Peterborough? Blackpool?
Please remember that Doncaster's entire game plan is supposedly tailored to suit him. You'd expect him to notch a few against shite like that when the entire team is geared up to "play to his strengths".
Other than the fact that Doncaster play football and we don't, have you plucked the notion that they have geared the entire team around him out of your arse? I suspect so.
UTB
We do play football. We are a football team. Sheffield United F.C. The F.C. stands for "Football Club." It even says so on the little badges on the shirts. Unless you have plucked the notion that we aren't a football team out of your arse?
he's record is exceptional at lower level, and is so at Doncaster. Your analysis of the teams he's scored against is, quite frankly, complete guff. Maybe you should write to the league with your new rules for lower point tally for beating the "poorer clubs".

Sorry, what don't you agree with?
You seem to agree that his lower league record is good, so that's dealt with, now for the Championship.
Has he scored against anyone good, or what? Quite a few people have suggested that Billy Sharp is now proving that he can cut it at this level when really, all he's done is enjoy a fantastic patch of form (short term, thus not proving anything long term) against the weaker teams in the league (i.e. teams that were rammell last season and teams that are rammell this season). What have I said that's so ridiculous?
See, what I've done there, is try to make a point. A lot of people are suggesting we should get him back and build the entire team around him, regardless of the strengths of the TEAM as a WHOLE. A lot of these same people keep saying that Doncaster have a style of football that suits his style. Well as far as I can tell, a team that was doing perfectly well last season should never have to change it's entire ethos, perhaps overlooking the strengths of other players, to incorporate one average player, whose "style of play" seems to be falling over a lot.
While we're in the mood for pulling things out of our arses, perhaps you could remove your head from your own orifice and see just how terrible he was over a longer period (not just ten games) in a Blades shirt?

On top of all that, he's only scoring because he's the main man there. It's similar to when Beattie was here - "give it to Beattie" was the gameplan. He's never going to be afforded that status at the Lane and if my acceptance of that fact means I'm blinkered, then I'm blinkered.
Where did I say it doesn't count? Of course it counts. What I'm saying is, the people who say he's now proving he can cut it at this level aren't really correct as he's only scoring against what are arguably League One teams. And that's his level in my eyes.
