New nothing about him but watching him on YouTube games and what people had said about him , meaning talent, I'm quite excited about this player. Could turn into a diamond for us

Don’t see this as that much of a risk really.

Wilder and Knill will have got to know him a bit and explained what’s expected.

He’ll be on relatively low wages and I assume it’ll be a short contract initially.

Giving us the option to bin him off (cheaply) if he’s a failure or extend the deal if he’s a success.

Defo worth a shot in my humble opinion.

You could see flashes of his pace and vision at ÖFK, but not often. His inconsistency might have been due to injuries, as communicated by the club (apparent problem with "a mouth"), or just simply because he was not interested? In the first game against AIK he started quite ok, showing some glimpses but faded. After that, very much up and down. His raw talent is there to be seen for everyone, but if he struggled to make an impression at ÖFK, can he cope with PL football?
Hopefully the 'poor attitude' rumors are false from his time at ÖFK, Burchnall's comments suggest that they are 'very happy' with his time there and are (was?) in talks with his agent to bring him back. That is positive, but I'm still quite sceptical but would love to be wrong on this one!

Wouldnt be against this on the right terms... he mustve had a wake up call at the clubs he has been to, plus he is getting to the age where he should be maturing

but just give him a pay as you play type 1 year contract... and club have option for extension for another year , could be a bit of a carrott on a stick for the lad and help off the field

last chance saloon at the top level now

No way is he going to slot into the 'Number 10' role at Bramall Lane and not be half fit. It just wouldn't work.

interesting that he seems to always have a worldie first game and then fades, sounds like he needs some proper sports psychology and man management

I remember when we were told Marlon King was a reformed character and a low risk gamble on a free. Leopards don't change their spots, I fear. But we have the best manager we could possibly have and if he thinks he can get a tune out of him, fair enough.

In terms of incredibly gifted, out-of-shape mercurial number 10's, is Adel Taarabt still about? And if so, how come nobody has suggested him yet?

A lot of negativity on here about this and whilst it is very understandable I still say look at how CW and AK have proved people wrong so far. The 2 most recent examples being Madine, a horrible history but barely put a foot wrong whilst with us and then Clarke, most of us thought he was a lazy, sulky knob end yet 12 months later he is wearing the armband and on his way to firing in 20 goals.

Chris gets into players heads [in a good way] and Alan fine tunes their skills. Between them they mould a team player who works his arse off.

It won't always come off but mostly does.

Believe....

Why not take a punt on a short-term deal with option to renew? It's the top-flight equivalent of signing Leon Clarke - might not work out, but could be spectacular if he gets his head right.

1 year contract on 5k a week. What's not to like? He wouldn't have been getting that at Ostersunds.

I doubt there'd be much competition for him either.

Seems like a Ched type deal hopefully.

Bit of a gamble where expectations should be low but hopefully the financial outlay is such that it's only a bit of a gamble.

And followed SUFC on Twitter. And Dean Henderson followed him. Something is happening...

And yet some (very few) still doubt CW. Hard to believe.

Some still obviously think they know best. Yes, CW may have worked his way up from Meadowhall Prem to the EPL, with no relegations or sackings on the way but has he won the Champions League with Leyton Orient on Football Manager or taken Arbourthorne EA into the the EPL on Football Chairman? I think not! :-)

Well, I mean the ched deal really didn’t work out at all and is one of the few CW missteps.....

Though I’m convinced it was at least in part a McCabe vanity project. Hopefully it’s cheap and Low risk

It was McCabe - who brokered the deal, think that was confirmed in the court case.

Hopefully if it happens Morrison realises this is his final shot to make anything out of a football career in this country, gets his head down and works at getting his undoubted ability on to the pitch on a regular basis.

One year with our option to extend for another (or 2) has to be the best contract option.

I think it'll take months of training and conditioning with a PL club to get him to the level to make a serious impact.

Then if he starts looking brilliant in April with 2 months left on his contract, we're covered against losing him for nothing.

We could see him as more of a long term than short term signing. He does still have time on his side.

I think this is a decent bit of business if it goes ahead. His last throw of the dice at football in a proper league, you'd imagine. If the lad is not hungry and driven and willing to put the work in then I'll be amazed.

Supposedly a photo of him on Facebook, pitch side with Wilder.
It's taken miles away in the stands so can't be sure but they recon it's him... 👀
