It's a grumble!.... - South Stand ticket move & press box

Perhaps there aren't enough seats in the South to relocate everyone, so they couldn't promise to. The letter does explicitly say that there are TC Stand seats available, though

I initially thought the same but S4 has just posted they are building a new row of 121 seats at the front of the SS. Club could have saved itself a lot of angst by offering these seats first with the option of going to the Westfield Upper if not acceptable.

Perhaps not but they could point out that once the issue had been identified, they took steps to halt sales in the South Stand and limited seats were earmarked which would be available on a first come, first served basis.

Instead of the fait accompli they present.

When I tried to get a season ticket for my son in the South stand I was told nothing at all available, he ended up on kop on his own and all his mates on ss. This was his first year without a season ticket because of going to uni. Was hoping to swap if went back on sale but looks like he will be Billy no mates
Go and speak to them in person, preferably to Carrie if she’s there. They’ll sort it

What I didn’t add to that is that these seats may be needed for media, I’m not sure. All I know is that they are installing them.
I would presume they are for supporters though, can’t see why media would require a row of pitch level seats

Apologies for jumping the gun that probably explains why they weren't offered. I hope with the amount of seats we are making available to the media at the expense of some of our most loyal supporters they will have the decency to at least refer to us as Sheffield United not Sheffield!

I don’t see why the media would want 121 pitch level seats though so there’s a good chance that they could be for us peasants

Oh God. I've just had flashbacks to the last time we were in the Premier League and all the random people who were incapable of matching up a letter and a number to find where they should be sitting. It's going to be even worse this season.

I had to shift someone out of my seat a few times, inevitably to be asked if I was sure that it was mine.

I think I know where it is. I've been there 20 years.

inevitably to be asked if I was sure that it was mine.

Cue funny joke;

"Shouldn't you be at home love, getting the tea ready?"

Obviously in the new uber-popular Premier, that hilarious joke may well be asked in Malaysian, Swedish or Chinese.

Excuse me, you're in my seat...

(Belligerently) No I'm not, l've got a season ticket.

So have I mate, look, it's got my seat number on it.

(Looks at his) so has mine, tough.

This is C row. Yours is CC, up there..

(Stands up mumbling barges past everyone)

Wit from two rows behind, not a regular then pal?

Ever been called a pudding burner at a Sunday lunchtime game Linz?

You have my sympathy. I would have been just as annoyed. I used to sit bang on the half way line in the old John Street.

Given how few seats are impacted it wouldn't have killed them to ring all those whose seats were being replaced and set aside a couple of mornings for meetings or walk in discussions.

Beyond that, timing would have been a factor. By the time promotion was confirmed, seats had been on sale a while.

I do wonder if at this point, knowing the impact on the seats potentially, whether they could have frozen sales and given you a better choice.

Even better, before season tickets were on sale at all, they could have written to you advising that possible promotion would see your seat move and then giving you first dibs on the available, non-allocated seats anywhere in the ground or giving you the option to wait and see if any occupied ones didn't renew, but at least the risk would be yours. If we don't go up, then you stay where you were.

It's not as if they only knew these requirements upon promotion. They would have known or been able to find out in advance.

Even if there aren't any more seats officially available in the SS, there are bound to be a few groups who'd be willing to switch to the Westfield if offered an incentive - say, 100 quid voucher the club shop, and a refund of the price difference - to help out older Blades who find stairs tough going.

Ticket office been in contact after I sent a 4 page letter/e mail to Bettis, McCarthy and co. Ringing me back tomorrow as we kept missing each other as I was in work. Hoping I can go down all being well Friday or Monday to meet and discuss.

Very poor PR from the club, I would have thought for the inconvenience caused to long attending supporters they at least for the first year would offer you a free ticket in Westfield stand, then next year review unsold seats in the TC stand to see if you can be moved back

This feels like the most logical solution

Sadly I worry this will only be the start of the club growing quickly, getting ideas above its station and starting to lose the connection with the fans, as tends to happen at most PL clubs. Really poorly handled by them and very much smacks of a business fobbing off its customers, rather than a football club communicating with its supporters. And yes, there is a difference.

That won’t happen.

So has the club held seats back for those displaced or can we expect posts from new season ticket holders who have recieved letters saying there was a mix up and the seats they have bought were never available. Shit rolls downhill and it would be very easy to dump out new ST holders and move them to the Westfield corner. 🤔🤔🤔

Some have been held back and a number of people have moved elsewhere in the SS
