Really? You are not aware of more than a few who only ever contribute to knock the club they claim to support? Isn’t it hypocritical to feign respect to those for whom you have none?

I am aware of those posters but they are not the ones that you engage with. And in fact the whole 'bladey bladeness' visage you go on about is in clear contradiction to what you've just posted. They "knock the club they claim to support" but are being bladey blades. It doesn't make sense and you only do it to draw attention to yourself and to belittle others.

As I said in my previous post, you don't have to respect someone to speak to them with respect, it isn't hypocritical to be polite.

They aren’t bothered about staying up? Think that might just about be the most embarrassing claim I’ve read on here. I’m sure I can guess the answer but any actual evidence for that?

Points are precious. We can’t waste any givingemarun to see if they can duajob. No place for Sunday League thinking in the Premier. Maybe in S2, the land that time forgot.

Be very pleased if we managed to pull this off. If the £3m fee is correct then yet another great piece of business from wilder....

Add that to

Egan - £4m (reportedly less)
Norwood - £2m (reportedly less)
JOC - c£300k
Fleck - £0
Enda - £0
Duffy - £0
Baldock - c£300k

A £20m transfer kitty in wilders hands must equate to around £50m for your average manager.
Then imagine what he could do with the average promotion spend of 40-50m... 😑

Is this still the Freeman thread ? Can we have a new forum section for people who want to argue so that some of us can actually read some relevant posts !?
Pinchy would need his own fucking forum, nevermind a section

I think we could squeeze it in between ‘England Wank’ and ‘Nauseating Tory Lapdogs’. Alternatively there’s a tiny bit of room just behind ‘Little Englander Brexit Tripe’.

He's got a job out of doing what he loves. Fair play to him.
Fair fucks to the kid, I just find it mind numbing :) I find them to be grand pub talk but you wouldn't get me investigating if x player completed 2.8 dribbles a game on average in rainy conditions

But meh, each to their own

I hear you. On its own it may seem dull, and I doubt I’d be talking about xG at the pub with my mates, but if you look at the bigger picture, you can see the draw. Or I can anyway. He’s using data to find players he reckons will have the talent to succeed at the next level, unearthing gems or more broadly showing why certain teams are winning/losing. It’s exactly the kind of stuff which made Moneyball by Michael Lewis so popular as a book, as a film, and as a broader theory that could be applied to sports and help the underdogs beat the big spenders. Or maybe I’m just another saddo!

Not much doubt which position Tufty intends him to play, then? Somebody tell LoughboroBlade! He may want to renegotiate a bet...:)

Oh I’ve agreed to this fully aware we’ll be signing someone that may play in the position a lot more. He’s in fact so far signed on loan or permanently at least 4 other players in the last 2-3 years too to compete with Duffy.

Anyway, I didn’t think you rated Freeman? :)

It has been so tedious reading a lot of these comments. The narcissistic behaviour of our own equivalent to 'Brian the Blade' is getting really boring.

For me, yes promotion means the bar has been raised and players we sign have to reflect that. Those players we already have who can meet the new standards will get games. We have a core of players who have proven they can do it already from our last promotion.

Yes I am being Captain Obvious because it is bloody obvious. The hard part is the role CW/AK play in being in control and bringing it all together.

Doesn’t answer the question though does it. Don’t worry, I never expected you to back up your bullshit.

He didn’t rate freeman until someone mentioned he could play the fleck role. Funny that

Reports that Freeman deal was done yesterday £3m. I call bullshit - reports from other fans that Freeman was at training with QPR Sunday.
''semi-retired football agent ITK'er.''

edit: To be fair to him though... he has had quite a few right!

I’m worried you’re getting to know me! I’m pretty sure he’s designated for the Duffy role, especially after reading the BA data.

On a serious note, I haven’t seen enough of Freeman to have a concluded personal opinion but I know he’s 27, a well-known and highly-rated Championship player, yet not a nibble from the Premier clubs, all of whom will be aware of the same stats as Jay. Doesn’t that beg an obvious question?

It begs the same question as:
  • Why didn’t Burton think Duffy was good enough for the Championship?
  • Why didn’t any other championship teams come in for Sharp when he dropped down to L1 to join us?
  • Why didn’t any other teams at the top of the championship think Egan was worth signing?
to name just a few. In other words, the question is totally irrelevant.

Yep. That CW has spotted a gem that other managers aint :)

Why do you all argue with him ?
I recall another thread with page after page of him condescending and patronising posters with trumplike nicknames for days ,me included .our crime we thought David Brooks might be good enough to be given a run in the first team

Its also what Brentford do. Their scouting predominantly takes place in an office block in West London, players are only watched late in the process.

I don't think the fact that Freeman hasn't moved to the Pl before or that there doesn't appear to be interest either from a PL club is a problem. Because he's 27 that will put off many PL clubs.

Freeman's probably the best realistic player we could get for the number 10 role. Others are too expensive and still not proven in the PL. Dack for example. Just because Aston Villa aren't competing with us for once doesn't mean he isn't good enough! I don't remember there been a queue for David McGoldrick from any Championship clubs at the end of last pre-season and that turned out well didn't it!?
