Steve Guest, Paisley Blade & Peezablade. All linked by WHCC.Small world, nice bloke .
I’m genuinely shocked to see Bert admitting to be related to such a huge Wednesdayite
On a more serious note I was taught Maths by Steve Guest in the early 90s, and when we was in the 5th year for some reason he has a free period at the same time the 5th formers did PE, so when we did football he would come and have a game with us and was a cracking footballer. Still see him knocking about Chapeltown and he still looks fit as a fiddle. Great bloke
I worked with Steve for a few years. Cracking bloke and still very active, spends a lot of the time golfing. He never mentioned England schoolboys to me but he did play in the World Student Games in Mexico. Also played for various non league clubs, think he mentioned Matlock and Buxton. A nicer bloke you couldn't wish to meetHe was known as Gessler as a lad, he played for Sheffield and Yorkshire Boys.
Bert's memory thinks he may have also played for England Schoolboys, but it's not quite sure.

No, I worked with him just before he retired 3 or 4 years ago, not at EcclesfieldJust a very random guess here, but are your initials HS?

Did Bert play county cricket for Yorkshire by any chance? It's a family trait.
Miss Wood?Somebody or other Glenn another sports teacher went apeshit at me with a rounders bat for allegedly stuffing a fruit and nut wrapper through the lower school letter box. I admit to faffing with the letterbox, opening and closing it quickly whilst proclaiming "It looks like an open and shut case to me Watson".
Twat.
Same goes for the bitch at Chapeltown Baths who said I had to wear a swimming cap because my hair was too long in the 2nd year. Pretty pointless nowadays ...
You're reight!!That's the bitch. The humiliation on the way back on Furniss's coach was troubling to say the least.
There were a few apt names for teachers whilst I was there, Mrs Lord the divinity teacher and Mr Farmer from rural studies. Mrs Quinn the art teacher was spooky as she was boz eyed and had the ability to bollock two people at once.
