In court yesterday the two sides ignored each other, no chat nor pleasantries and at each break the two sides scurried off to their consultation rooms. Deffo looked like not being friends, adversarial and likely to go on for a long long time with neither seeking a compromise. The 20 or so legal people in there must be loving all this on their mega day rates as things progressed at snails pace.
What this needs is not a court case but mediation to find a deal which saves face for both sides but I formed the impression both sides are too stubborn and have too much pride to back down. Ultimately not good for the team.
Cos it's got to the interesting bit. The phony war (and phony pleasantries) are over. Team McCabe are mightily pissed off over the disclosure issue and are going to plan mayhem and embarrassment over it. Dunno where it will get them following HHJ considering most of it otiose, but I think I might have been pissed off not to be allowed to see what I deemed crucial evidence on the basis of a "lack of proportionality". (Incidentally to you bastard Brexiteers, that is one EU concept you have my support against. Fucking proportionality).
