Show me a post where I have defended Wednesday.
Should be easy pickings if I do it as often as you say I do.
We've been here before. Are you going to bring your tattoo into it?
You're in the sugar hill gang
Back on topic, I came across this on the web this morning..............View attachment 54854
Like I said, you can't.
Stop talking fucking bollocks.
If you have never heard of Ujpest Doza it says more about your lack of football knowledge (probably through age) than it does about the quality of their team.Yeah I've never heard of half of them.
Never even heard of the team Newcastle beat in the final.
Says it all really.

For many years Hungary was a powerhouse in world football and Ujpest Doza were of a similar standing in European club football.
I don't think a country that has only ever produced one finalist in the Europa League could ever be described as a powerhouse to be honest.
Oh I don't know about that.
The mighty Malmo lost the European Cup to the scabs in 1980 and everyone knows what a powerhouse of footy Sweden is.
Times change.I don't think a country that has only ever produced one finalist in the Europa League could ever be described as a powerhouse to be honest.
Times change.
Ferencvaros and Ujpest Doza were once top quality club teams and Hungary beat the supposedly good England 7-1.
Hungary was a poor country behind the iron curtain and as football progressed they were unable to keep up with the free spenders in the West
Just because you weren't around then and don't know these things it doesn't make them crap opposition for Newcastle in 1969 and Leeds in whatever year they played Ferencvaros.
As laughable as saying Sheff Utd are a natural top tier club?I know Hungary had a good international team in the 30s, 40s and 50s but to call them powerhouses in terms of club football is laughable.
I think it is fair to say that for a period, the Hungarian national team could be described as a powerhouse of football.

We've had 17 of my 64 seasons in the top division, 8 of which were in the 1960's, never made a major cup final and won a total of 0 major trophies yet the sense of entitlement from some on here is astounding.
At their best both Ujpest and Ferencvaros were far better than we have ever been in my life time, and more successful in Europe than we are ever likely to be.
But hey, if you think they were crap, then I guess they must have been, the numbers say so.
Anyone else for spreadsheet football?
I wagged off school to watch their 6-3 win against England and was astonished at what I saw . At that time they were miles ahead of any other European team and redefined how football should be played .
Much of their influence on the modern game can still be seen today .
Did Alf Ramsay play in that game?
Or any United players?
Yes , Ramsay played . There weren't any Blades players in the side although there should have been since Gil Merrick of Brum was in goal and he was about as useful as a club foot , whereas the wonderful Ted Burgin was close to his peak .
There was a Grunter in the team - any ideas ?
Pig mates Dad favourite player is Jackie Robinson, was it him?
proves one thing. we're fucking hard core.. it's a miracle we still get 30k fans

I've heard people opine that your mate Joe Shaw should have got plenty of caps ahead of Billy Wright around that time, too.
In 1953 when the Hungary match was played , both Joe and Billy Wright played in the wing half position rather than the centre halves they were to become . England's centre half that day was Harry Johnston of Blackpool who got pulled all over the place by their centre forward Hideguti who often took up a more deep lying and fluid role than anything we had seen before .
Billy Wright eventually took over from him and to be fair , was a very decent centre half for quite a while . However , from around 1957 his performances went downhill and it was at that time and for the next 6 or 7 years when Joe was at his peak and should in my view , and that of many others including the great Nat Lofthouse , have been England's centre half .
I have no doubt whatsoever that he would have made an outstanding job of it and it is little short of a tragedy that the great man (and I mean that in every respect) never got the recognition he unquestionably deserved .
The only good news arising from that scenario is that , had he become England's centre half it is most unlikely that we would have been able to hang on to him , thus denying me and others of my generation the great pleasure of watching a true footballing genius playing in a Blades shirt for many years .
