I also learnt it as Come thrill me again, and at that time a lot of people (most people?) sang that. I think people have been convinced it should be like the Denver original where it goes back to fill, but I remain non-conformist.
Still better than the T shirt I saw in the club shop some years ago that read, "Come feel me again." Clearly something got lost in translation between us and the manufacturers, and yes, I do regret not having a camera on my phone.

No logic to it though. We don’t sing ‘thrill up my senses’ so why suddenly go from ‘fill’ to ‘thrill’? It makes no sense. The whole point of the song is about having your senses filled. It’s the lyrical motif.
My senses have been filled up,I want to be thrilled again.Logic has never applied to football songs, for instance Jackie Charlton is alive and kicking, and your arms would very quickly get tired if you attempted to walk from Hyde Park to Wadsley Bridge, swinging a Pig,even a baby one.

Both of those songs are logical though, even if they are based on fantasy. ‘No pig fans’ is a kind of wish list scenario rather than claiming to be reality. As far as swinging a pig goes, Hyde Park Flats and Wadsley Bridge are defined geographical locations. There’s nothing illogical about that, no matter how impossible it may be.

They’re both logical progressions of a theme.

I don't know what to say to that, let me change my mind to fill.

It doesn't have to return to fill to complete the "logic" though. The "you fill up my senses" list is stand-alone without having to say "come fill me again". In fact, you can be thrilled by Sheffield United filling up your senses. It's all about changing words to make a football song and although having my senses filled with quasi-spiritual emotional experiences, like eating greasy chip butties, is an excellent reason for a song, I like to end on an exhortation to my team to play some thrilling football.

I don't know what to say to that, let me change my mind to fill.

Have some bloody backbone man, stand your ground!

Yes it does. It isn’t stand alone, it’s the theme of the lyrics. You fill up my senses like .... and ..... and ...... so fill up my senses again please. That’s what’s it’s about.

And you'd get locked up for constantly lobbing bricks at our left centre back

Well, the original lyrics do start and end with "fill" - there's no disputing that. But what is illogical about having your senses "filled" and being "thrilled" as a result? It's happened to me many times. Maybe you've had your senses filled but have not found it thrilling? And that's why you find it hard to understand the logic. Or perhaps you've never had your senses filled - but still somehow manage to get thrills? (I will not ask for further details).

Either way...we should get back to looking at the wonderful photo's on this thread instead!
