Please remember there are not many confirmed signings in early June. That is largely because the transfer fees the selling clubs ask for are higher now than in late July (that is if the player isnt snapped up yet). Agents usually advise their clients to wait until the selling club drops their price. Nowadays wages are higher than transfer fees.

I think you'd like to get them in early for pre-season, Portugal etc, but also accepting that for some teams with players we may be interested in their season's have only just finished post play-offs and players are off to the beaches. I'm sure it's all in hand...............

Think we will get the ones on Bosmans, loans plus a few from the lower divisions before Portugal, then a few more in late July when the selling clubs eventually agree to drop the prices.

My hunch is cash flow will be the big headache for utd with banks not keen to lend to either owner, nor owners being keen to borrow, when either of em cold lose their shirt soon.

Upshot of this will be we might pick up a few available for low fees or low first installments, mainly towards the end of the window when cheaper, and wages will be less of a problem as these are spread over the season.

Difficult to see many big money signings in this window needing millions up front when the millions have yet to roll in.

We want signings, when do we want them now

Don't think that will be even a slight issue. Money is sat in the back and first tench of Premier League cash comes in August. There won't even be a slight issue on anything like that.

I’d guess that the players are all still away on holidays. Yes; the agents will be talking, but there are still medicals to be had/pass. Cant do them when they’re sunning themselves wherever theyve gone. Suspect things ramp up for everyone in the next coiple of weeks.

Like Derby did with Waghorn? Lampard knew Waghorn's valuation better than Wilder?

How do you know what Wilder’s valuation was?

For all we know Wilder would have been happy to pay more than Derby but the board would let him?

The banks wouldn't be lending money to the owners though...they are lending it to the 'business'and that's where the chief executive and finance director come in. McCabe and the Prince are just shareholders.

In theory we should be able to borrow
relitively easy with the premiership payments as security on any loan.

People are bored. We’ve got used to the Adrenalin rush of winning regularly, of getting promoted and we need the buzz of some transfer action.

Probably things start happening last two weeks in June, as a lot of players contracts run out at the end of June, which means that players shortly out of contract and facing no wages coming in, start to get a bit twitchy and they want to get fixed up. This in turns allows other clubs to have agreed things with these replacement players when they are potentially letting their own players go / selling them.

At the moment it is all agents and clubs playing the game and seeing what is out there. Things should start to firm up shortly and deals will start to get done. My advice, put you football transfer feet up for 2 weeks and then start to check what is happening on the transfer grape vine.

I don't think anyone has signed anyone yet as far as I know and doubt that the Court Case means we can't sign players either.

Let's chill and worry at the start if August if we haven't signed many !
there have been 3 premier league transfers this summer according to the BBC

Lloyd Kelly to Bournemouth
Jonass Losl to Everton
Roberto to West Ham

So the Blades recruitment is in line with 17 other sides and obviously miles behind these 3. Why do we have to do this every Summer

Norwich have signed Patrick Roberts on a season's loan from Man City. A decent signing.

Given that the vast majority of signings are all paid in installments, I'm not sure why cash flow would be an issue?

I think for us it could happen quite late.

We want players who can do a job at the top level.

We're not going to be first choice for many of those as we are new to the PL and with little recent history there.

I think this will be Chris and Alan's toughest summer as we're going to be dealing with demands which at times are astronomical given we are a PL club and everyone wants a slice. I'd be more than happy to be raiding the likes of Bolton for Connell and Brockbank(?), But such is the degree of data out there these days there are few hidden gems to be plucked from nowhere like perhaps a few decades back.

I never expect any signings until mid June at the earliest. If you look around not many teams have signed a player yet. Market always slow until all games are done and everyone else is back from the beach.

How many times have you seen Patrick Roberts? I admit I had not heard of him until last week

He is a tremendous player, because he has signed for someone else.

Had he signed for us, he would have been a panic signing and will struggle to get in our team, and further proof that all is not well behind the scenes.

Wilder knew Waghorn's valuation but Lampard offered more . This summer Wilder has given a list of transfer targets to the board and I would expect him to write down the maximum valuation for each of his targets and leave it to Carl Shieber/Steve Bettis and whoever else are doing the negotiations with the clubs

See I would disagree to some extent. Last week of and particularly last day of transfer windoe and the prices go UP UP UP

Not worried but would like a few in for pre season (beg July) Guessing its not easy to get used to our unusual formation n tactics ;)

Not if the player is in his last year of the contract and the club could sense that the player would prefer to be elsewhere. An example is that Wilder wasnt impressed with Che Adams during pre-season three years ago and decided to accept Birmingham's offer for him.

A loaded question I suspect Silent, but i'll show you the respect in answering it fully.

I've followed his progress since he first emerged on the scene at Fulham about 5 years ago, when he was tipped to be the next big thing in english football.

He joined Man City for over £10m and his career stalled. He has spent time at celtic where he did well 15 goals in 55 games and more recently at girona, man city's feeder club, where he had his moments.

He shone for england youths from u16's to u20's. But at 22 hasn't made the step up as of yet. He's only of small stature, but very good technique. He can play as a winger in a 4-4-2, one of the middle or top 3 in a 4-3-3 or middle 3 in a 4-2-3-1 of he can also play in the hole of a lone forward. I would put him above Dowell as a prospect, but wouldn't have wanted us to have signed him on loan, as i think there is better available for us. For Norwich on the other hand he's a good signing. A £10m player that they wouldn't be able to either afford or attract normally.

Have I seen him play? Yes, many times on tv and a couple of times in the flesh.

Ok, let's see at the end of next season. You and I decide if he is the one we should have signed.
