Not sure if he was injured for most of the season, but never made an appearance for the first team.

The guy's been rolling around nightclubs with Chelsea for the past however many months. Even got plugs to sort his hair out. Will be on big money and even if taking a paycut will probably expect to be our highest earner. Not for me.

If he’d take a huge pay cut I wouldn’t be against this, he was excellent for Leicester and Wilder would get the best out of him.

However...

I seriously doubt he’d take the huge pay cut so it won’t be a goer.

100K per week apparently. He would need to take a 50%-60% cut to make him viable. Would Chelsea contribute to his wages? Maybe.

He is right footed and not really a box to box midfielder, so the only role I see him playing in is Norwoods. Whilst we need cover there I don't think £10m fee & £50k+ wages is the right option.

Its a no from me :)

Hasn’t he just been given a lengthy ban for drink driving?

I imagine we’ll stay away from big time Charlie’s like him. Not a chance he’d come here and take a massive cut on his £100k+ a week wage anyway.

On loan for a season? We pay 40% of his wages? He acts as the box to box water carrier? Exactly the type, age and experience of player we need.

He's lost his way, he's looking for a port in a storm, a place to kick start his career, CW will break him into pieces & re-assemble him.

Having witnessed some of our end of season celebrations can’t see someone with the name Drinkwater fitting in
It doesn't even suit him, seeing he was banned for drinking and driving recently.

Drinkwater was up there with Kante for Leicester. Would have been a shoe in for England and should have been but tossers like Wilshire got the nod instead.
He made a bad decision going to Chelsea and has hardly kicked a ball. Appears he's lost his way off the field to.
There's no way we could get him but if we could Jesus H Christ on a fucking bike.
He absolutely is everything Wilder wants in a middy.

We play a deep lying centre mid with expansive passing range, plus two centre midfielders capable of bursting forward, taking the ball on the half turn and slipping the strikers in. Drinkwater is none of those and he wouldn’t come here to warm the bench (or come here at all IMHO).

That doesn't mean we're going to play like that next season and there's no possible room for adjustment.

You’re right, and if we play this way next season, it’ll be a goal fest. In our net.

Suspect he's now a busted flush and will end up being paid far more than he's worth at somewhere like West Ham or Newcastle.

Nope.....didn't kick a competitive ball for Chelsea last year despite not being injured....also refused to play for their U23's....
