I was convinced we'd sign Shaun Goater at some point! I always liked him and when he went to Bristol from Rotherham I was gutted we didn't sign him for relative peanuts then. We were linked with him I think at the back end of his City career but I think he joined Reading instead, but it might have been after he left Reading we were linked. Either way, I think he'd have been a fans favourite at the Lane but sadly it wasn't to be.

Very few if you ask me. We can and will do better. Hopefully McBurnie and Maupay. Now that would be a statement. Both very accomplished at age 22 and both with huge potential to improve. Contrast Austin A40 and Fartoo Long.

A reserve player for Man City. Tony Pritchett wrote many articles in the Star and Green Un, saying we were after him and he was going to sign for us.

Regarding Maupay... Would love it, but can't see it happening, would love to be wrong though, quite a few established prem teams in for him, he's rated at £20m, doubt we will spend that on one player and compete with Leicester, Southampton et al... teams with much bigger pots than ours!

McBurnie much more likely imo... I don't think Long/Austin would be bad options with some pace at there side. We will need a fair few forwards around the club on rotation, I reckon 4/5... Experienced PL players will be handy to have around
