I think what we should all remember is that we’ve got off to a poor start every season under Wilder and ended up with 2 promotions and a top 10 finish, so it’d be good for some to hang on a a bit longer before jumping onto their rusty swords.

Mentioned this elsewhere, I hope, in a way, we don't get a couple of so called easier 'winnable games' early doors as if we don't win that'll be it for some. We could do with a Man Citeh, Liverpool at home early 1. to maybe catch them before they're at full pelt and 2. we won't be expected to win.

No exaggeration at all. Wilder has exceeded pre season expectations every year since he arrived. Wolves were not surprised by the PL, quite the opposite. Why should we be?

Common sense really.
Villa and Leeds would be expected to spend 50 million
Derby and West Brom would spend at least 30 million.
Where as us and Norwich are expected to spend 20 to 30 million.

Depending on the outcome of the court hearing and also possibly new owners, there is very little written in stone.

CW is rightfully confident that he can achieve success if he is left in control and given the tools he requires.
Hopefully whoever the eventual owners are, they see the wisdom in doing just that.

I've always been more of a glass half-full kind of person and am feeling the same in regards to our prospects for the upcoming Prem season.

Obviously a lot hinges on what transpires in court and thereafter, but with CW at the helm, I feel confident we will be ok regardless.

I just hope people don't start headhunting if we are bottom of the table after a handful of games or more;the Prem is a very hard league.

Of course dream scenario would be to exceed all the pundits expectations and breeze to safety, but that is way easier said than done.

Let's be realistic with the task we have at hand and just see what happens.

38 games to play. 8 of those games will be against the finalists of the two European cups. 2 games will be against the side that's just broken the points record that they set last season. That's a quarter of your season right there.

We're going to be taking these teams on with what will probably be the lowest budget in the division, with a set of players inexperienced in Premier League football, with a manager who's never managed at this level, with a scouting network that so far hasn't gone beyond Ireland.

Those are some of the brute facts about Sheffield United. You can't look at the bookies or the pundits and say they're dismissing us out of hand, we've got a mammoth task ahead of us.

But no one can rule us out. We've taken the Championship by going for the kill in every game we've played. We've got the best defence in the division and we've done it in spite of shocking the hell out of teams by pouring players forward from defence. I'm predicting that a few teams in the Prem will put five past us with that approach but I'm also predicting we'll take a few wins along the way.

All anyone can say is don't rule us out.
