Our wages in the 17/18 were £19 million, last season even more. I would expect with promotion bonuses we’re looking at £29 million. What do people think we will go to next season in The Prem? in the 17/18 season Huddersfield had the lowest wages at £63 million and second lowest was Brighton with £78 million. Could our wages double or do you think we’ll be well below Huddersfield’s first season wage total?

Still be less than Huddersfield as I don't think Wilder wants to disrupt the wage structure too much.
 
Don't know, does anyone? We don't even have first idea of any signings yet.

I’d be surprised if we were at £29 million this season. Last accounts in 2018 (April 2018) were £19m as you said and we’ve not gone overboard since then

Ollie, Egan, McG, Cranie, added to the squad on permanent deals with several expensive loans from jan.

None of the permanent signings will have been that expensive as they were unwanted at their clubs.

Not sure if the loans are counted in the main wages or if they’re another expense, same with bonuses for promotion. They might be extraordinary expenses

Villa had the top wage bill last season at £ 60+million and Norwich not far behind.

I’d imagine that we’ll be somewhere inbetween, perhaps £40-50million in our first season.

Which is still staggering. Based on a squad of 20 players, the average weekly wage is:
19m - £18k per week
40m - £38k per week

Considering what many of the same players were on back in league one, it’s a hell of a jump

Right up until the point when it’s not... just needs a bad second half of the season or a bad last 10 games and straight away you’re back down in the Championship and not long before you’re staring FFP in the face...

They don't get £200m, nobody does as stated elsewhere. Wimbledon got done over eventually, their date is next season.
 
I was expecting a wage bill next year of 40m but I imagine with promotion bonus' plus loan costs we could easily be doing 29 this year; fackin' crazy innit when a sensible club like ours is paying that whack.

Several players signed new contracts this season and I’m including the loans and promotion bonuses. The cost of Madine was in the region of £800k and Hogan is reportedly on £40k a week although I’m not sure what we paid.

Dats nice, the sprinkling of Boremouth fans will enjoy that. Seriously they are taking up a spot, next season sees their natural demise back to Div 2.
 
It's inevitable, our wage structure will change and grow. How much by who can tell? But it's a given if we wish to remain in the Premiership.

I understand Wilder's willingness to sustain parity, but to attract better quality this will change, it has to. Imagine if we signed a top quality forward, does anyone think he'd be on wages comparable with a squad player? No doubt Wilder will have already addressed this, it may not happen for a while, but change it will if we're to give ourselves a chance to remain as members of the Premiership.

True that several got new contracts but still can’t see the wage bill increasing almost 50% in one year when revenues won’t have increased that much in the championship.

Madine and hogan were reported fees/ wages so take that with a pinch of salt.
 
So Brighton have the second lowest wage bill and survive in the premier league and still sack their manager Chris Houghton, expectations eh. Can you emagine that being us next season and our new Chinese owners saying sorry Chris you're out, the second half of the season Brighton have not done well but what are the owners realistic expectations? Will serve em right if they go down next season, (with Leeds and Villa of course)!

Maybe not that much but Wilder’s bonus was £1.5 million.

The players that are brought in aren’t chosen by the manager either. I think they use some sort of money ball analysis on players.

Wilder said recently that our individual player contracts are designed to flex up or down depending on the division we're in.
 
Basic wages need to be realistic with a very lucrative added bonus paid should we remain in the Premier league. This bonus should increase incrementally based upon our final league position.

pretty sure that is how Bassett did his bonus structure. I'm sure football contracts have moved on a bit but it makes total sense
