How easy is it to look at the squad list before you do a podcast where you are telling United how you think they should approach their first season in the Premier League? I'm excited for us to re-sign Ben Woodburn, he was brilliant wasn't he? Some of what they said makes sense, but a lot of it seemed like they hadn't ever seen us play and maybe just read wikipedia before the episode started.

It was pretty terrible in parts. I wouldn’t spend over an hour talking about something I haven’t got a clue about.

The bit about Woodburn was the worst bit.

They made the odd good point about transfer policy though, fairly common sensical but valid.

I cringed a bit at the Woodburn bit too, but other than that I can't say I noticed too many mistakes.

Their breakdown of our tactics was better than most on here would manage I dare say- they've obviously seen us play.

At the end of the day, you can't expect people in the media to know every last minute detail - I thought this was far better than some of the rubbish about us I've heard from more mainstream pundits

One of them had, the other 2 were clueless.

There does seem to be a certain ignorance to the Championship from one of them. They also seem to underestimate the quality in the Championship for me as well.

Clueless is harsh. The host isn't a football man, he's a host. The other (Seb) knew a fair bit about our off-field situation.

Fair enough, it’s good exposure for us if people who aren’t Blades are listening and they were complimentary. For Blades it wasn’t great. I just don’t see anyone outside of our support being interested.

A lot of what they said about how to approach the PL was spot on.

Those who prefer to focus on a couple of gaps in their knowledge should probably avoid any unaffiliated content for fear of endless disappointment.

They've done several about other clubs and I've listened to them all so imagine there's plenty of non-blades listening.

I'm not sure how popular the podcast is but the videos they do draw hundreds of thousands of views.

Thought that was sound and a nice insight to an outsider’s view of us. Decent enough knowledge from a pod that clearly casts it’s net wide across the football spectrum.

On the Woodburn comment, were they not just using it as an example of the type of loan deal we should be looking to explore. Fair enough, there are better examples from outside the Blades (Abraham, Reece James, Harvey Barnes, Harry Wilson etc)...but the thinking behind the Woodburn deal was sound - just didn’t work out for us on this occasion. I’d certainly take a promising youngster on loan next year.

One thing that is annoying me though is this insistence from outsiders to compare us to Burnley - surely Bournemouth and Southampton are closer matches to our situation. They played in a more comparable style and pretty much went straight up through League 1 and Championship with some of the same players present throughout both promotion campaigns.

If we can replicate what Bournemouth have done (especially re. continuity at Management level), I’d be more than happy! We also have the fan base and potential to push on even further if we can establish ourselves in the top flight...exciting times!

It was OK, some good research in there but the host was not great. The host called us 'Sheffield' at one point. He also guessed at our last time in the top flight "back in the early days wasn't it?" how much of a football fan can he be if he doesn't remember the infamous season we were relegated in 07? Or just look it up, takes 5 seconds.

Get used to people calling us Sheffield mate.

Think this is a decent podcast. if people are getting angry at this then i'm not sure you will be able to deal with attention we are about to receive next season, this is expert analysis in comparison to what is about to happen, Imagine twitter the day we play Liverpool or Man Utd away

At the end of the day, it's a host and 2 football journalists talking about a team they don't support (and I imagine can only watch occasionally) for over an hour - they are bound to get the odd thing wrong.

The biggest takeaway from me, was the discussion about our transfer strategy, the analysis of our tactics and the concept that relegation wouldn't ruin us (like Burnley)

i'm loving it that people think we are going to be like Burnley.. big lads. get it to the striker early.. organised. pashun.. blah fucking blah. they are going to be in for a shock :)

Some nice comments but at the core the same sorts of bias. Load of crap.

Such as...

"Wolves set the precedence for playing tactically in the Championship."

Suggesting the rest have followed suit.

"United started playing this style this season, or at least doing it more aggressively"

What? No idea about previous two seasons.

"It's obvious Norwich are following a tactical pattern with their signings. It's not clear whether United's mish-mash is a plan or just great coaching".

Because Norwich bought from Germany and Spain it's a plan. Wilder buys from UK, needs to get lucky.

I agree and thought that they overdid how wonderful Norwich's scouting has been for ;wonder foreign talent;, but our success has been down to 'miracle coaching' of a bunch of journeymen.

Still its probably best that people continue to misunderstand us and over simplify what we do. They will be all the more surprised when we turn them over.

This annoyed me to, and I was a little disappointed they didn't know that the tactic has been in use for 3 seasons - I feel that wouldn't be too hard to work out.

I think you're taking the wolves comment a bit out of context though, as I recognised what they meant. (Even if they could have made the point more clear)

Essentially, they were trying to say that Wolves promotion was different in the sense that they had "created" a new style, that wasn't familiar to the championship.

They then commented about us and Norwich following suit, not in a sense that we'd copied Wolves style, but that, rather than use traditional tactics or a familiar blueprint out the division, we too had got promoted using innovative tactics.

I think they were essentially trying to say that the championship seems to developing tactically and it's become strong to the point where ideas are no longer trickling down but from the top, but being created/developed in the CH.

Perhaps I'm just a TiFo apologist, but that's how I understood what they're trying to say.

Again, perhaps I'm making excuses but I thought they weren't using this as a stick to beat us with, but actually complementing Chris Wilder.

I think its fair to be complementary to Norwich and their scouting approach. They've levelled the playing field by scouting undervalued/overlooked markets in Europe, and because of that they've managed to assemble the best squad in the division, while making a huge net profit.

Our signings have definitely been overlooked/undervalued too, but because names such as McGoldrick, Stevens, Duffy etc. have been under everyone's noses so long, its understandable why you might put our success down to tactical instruction or 'miracle coaching'.

Essentially, every club in the division had the opportunity to sign McGoldrick, but didn't. However, players like Onel Hernandez and Marco Stiepermann probably weren't even on the radar of anyone other than Farke and his scouting team.

To an extent, I agree with the point they're trying to make: Norwich pulled rabbits out of hats, while we dusted off and improved rabbits that people didn't want anymore- the end result is the same in both cases.

Overall I thought it was a decent podcast but I have to admit I was surprised with how much they missed or didn't know about us, and would continuously ask each other about what the facts were, which they would (sometimes) misconstrue, eg. their comment about Ben Woodburn

Perhaps just high expectations on my part- which is a compliment to them. I think it would have been better if one of them had done some really in-depth research so could help out when the others were confused.

Given how detailed their videos are I was expecting something similar but for me it just fell a bit short of really 'getting' us, in the way that say Colin Murray or Benjamin Bloom do. But then again they run a podcast and channel which cover the entire footballing world, so perhaps I'm asking a bit much given the sheer amount of ground they cover compared to the aforementioned EFL-focused pundits.

Nice to know we're making an impact and getting some attention though.

I think this is the point. Colin Murray's job means he has to focus on the football league, and Benjamin Bloom has decided to exclusively cover the championship.

Tifo do videos on everything from the ownership situation at Tractor Sazi in Iran to in depth tactical breakdowns of teams as diverse as Montreal Impact in the MLS. You have to cut them a bit of slack when it comes to minutiae of your club.

They should still know that Ben Woodburn is shit though :)

A decent listen and definitely not a case of me wasting my time by doing so .

I'd echo the points made in relation to their analysis of our unique style of play . But I do think more should have been made of the fact that whilst we can all see what it is that we're doing, it's an entirely different proposition stopping us doing it .

I also really enjoyed the discussion surrounding plans for entrance into the Premier League adopted by various clubs over the years . QPR and Fulham were justifiably singled out as examples that clearly shouldn't be followed . Whilst a more measured approach that doesn't jeopardise the very existence of our club was universally endorsed . I really do wish some of our support would listen to what's being said here, but I feel even if they did they'd still make idiotic demands on the Club this summer . Indeed, the idiotic demands have already started .I've already witnessed demands that £116 million is what Wilder should spend this summer, can anyone beat that ?

Don't understand why people get so touchy that not every one is an expert on sufc
I bet the likes of Bournemouth and Southampton get regularly disrespected but still earn 200 million a year

i’m sorry but they make too many mistakes about us which suggests they haven’t done their research properly
