Tourists next season

Their husbands must have bought their tickets ;)

I think it's called unconscious bias. It's like on another thread where someone said they would like us to sign the "big black number 7 that played for Stoke". What is the identifier?

Did you get to Stoke in your Audi A1, Linz (or Polo, Fiesta or Fiat 500 - I think that's about the choice of vehicle isn't it) :) - and don't forget when someone asks you what car you have you answer "a red one".

Always a strange one how some fans struggle to get a ticket, but others promoting their Social Media website, or someone rocks up with the missus and kid despite it been 1 ticket per season ticket holder.

Can understand some tickets going to players but the amount of people there who barely go to a game was frightening. Bumped into one couple who I didn't know even followed United. When asked how they got tickets, the reply was oh he got tickets off (ex player whom I wont name).

Mate got a ticket through a ex colleague of his Dad who works at the Lane. Rarely goes to a game year after year.

When theres less than 3000 tickets it rankles I must say.

Surprised there was as much noise as there was tbh.

Enjoyed the Under the Cosh bit but bizarre they could ponce at least 3 tickets really for that.

By knowing someone else who wasn't going who had enough points?

I dunno... just didn't like the insinuation that every woman there was there solely in the capacity of "missus".

Agreed. My wife still goes to the midweek matches that I occasionally have to miss through work because she is every bit as big a Blade as anybody else.

Is it really unlikely that there won't be any more ST's made available?

Get the bloody pots weshed. :D

I think the reason why they’ve stopped selling season tickets is because it’s come to the end of the early bird offer?.
Of course I might be completely wrong!!.
I’m just glad I got mine sorted 2 weeks ago under the aforementioned early bird renewal offer. UTB⚔️⚔️⚔️

The projected ST sales are for 27k - which would mean around 2k tickets available per game which I'd imagine will be sold on a points basis. So not many tourists/students.
Build it higher and they will come and we can fit them in!

Think this thread is edging slightly off piste.

Forgive if I'm wrong but the jist was that quite a few non fans or part timers got tickets for Stoke out of 2900 or so tickets.

Think I saw that less than 200 tickets were left when only 1400 had the loyalty points to get them by that stage.

Where did 1400 come from? If a reputable source, then fair enough. But I would be very surprised if we only had that many.

We got tickets with a couple of people who, while season ticket holders, aren’t what you’d call regular away fans. They both easily had enough points.

It fucking stinks doesn't it.

You can feel it in the atmosphere as well - it should be ramped up to the max but there are strange areas of calm. It was the same at Hillsborough.

It better not be a theme next season. You cannot do that to your away support.

I'm really pleased those people didn't get to see anything of significance. Hopefully not too many of them were at Hull.

There are only 1400 with more than 45000 points?

If true it does.

1300 plundered from the 2900? Mmmm.

I really don't understand what the fuss is about tickets and availability!

It's called supply and demand!

I've had season tickets in the past, the last time was 20+ years ago when I moved to the North East. I go to games when I can, occasionally away games when I feel like it, although always getting tickets with home supporters as I've no chance of getting a ticket under the 'unfair' points system!

I've been lucky this last season that, one way or another, I've managed to watch the majority of our games online via iFollow or some overseas satellite channel.
Next season will be slightly different in that;
1. We'll be on Sky Sports, although possibly less than this season!
2. No iFollow?
3. Demand for home tickets will be higher (should I wish to attend!) with full house most games
4. Away (home) tickets will be in high demand.

So my options become;
1. Sky Sports subscription (I'm thinking NowTV and hoc)
2. Hope we feature more often on overseas satellite channels
3. Hope I can get a ticket for the games I'd like to see at BL!
4. I become a 'tourist' at away games

There's always Match of the Day of course!

I'm aware that there are people (one of my mates being one of them) who cocked up on the season ticket front and are now struggling to get them - concerned that they are now off sale so they might not be able to. My initial response to my mate was that he should have got it sorted so it was his own fault - and I suppose it still is.

However, one of the women at work who is a season ticket holder at the sty with her 6 year old son has just told me that she is furious with her husband because he and his dad (both West Ham fans) have bought season tickets at the Lane for next season for themselves and her son so that they can watch premiership football. I never thought we'd become a tourist club like Man U are and really feel for any Blades who might not get tickets because of people like this. Next thing we know we'll have them sat with half and half scarves. It will also dilute the atmosphere because these people are simply spectators, not supporters.
We might need the tourists if we expand the stadium. Success creates interest........Bring it on.

Maybe they have sad forward-thinking parents who bought their three month old child a season ticket just so he/she starts building up loyalty points.

Ahem... Foxy.

And forgive me for challenging the assumption that all football fans are single males and that women in the crowd were somehow not worthy of a ticket on their own merit. There was no reason to single out women and children if you're talking about non-regulars who got tickets, there were plenty of faces I didn't recognise.

Are you assuming i meant the wife and child were the ones i was having a dig at or the bloke, who for all i know is a passionate gardener and spends most weekends tending to his flower bed, apart from the odd occasion when his missus and kid drag him along to the Lane when the Blades are doing well?

Website said we'd sold a record number of season tickets. With just the renewals alone we can't have sold a record number of season tickets. We sold over 24k last time in the Prem. There's no more available.

Regarding tourists.
You would have thought the council would be pro-active and try to sell tourists a

“SHEFFIELD- the birth place of football”, long weekend stay package.

Long weekend stay with overnight accommodation at the Copthorn, on Bramall Lane.
Including organised tours to visit 4 grounds.
1: Bramall Lane, the oldest major stadium in the world
2: The Sty, famous for the Hillsboro disaster and the flood.
3: Sheffield FC current ground with Sheffield FC being the official oldest club in the world and
4: Sandygate, where Hallam FC play, the 2nd oldest club in the world and oldest ground (still in use) in the world.

Also include a match ticket to see a PL match at the Lane.

We should seize the opportunity and market Sheffield properly regards it’s football heritage or am I being too optimistic ?

Current season tickets holder will still be given an opportunity to renew their existing seat for a period. Also, any remaining seats will also be on sale for new buyers In both cases this will be at a higher price than the Early Bird offer. There will then be a period where anyone who has purchased a season ticket will have the opportunity to move seats. Finally, any seats that are remaining will be available for sale for new buyers. At least that is how it has worked for the last 45 years.

Hi do you know if this will still be the case as we missed the early bird deadline but still wish to renew our season tickets??
Thanks in advance , the ticket office haven’t been v helpful !
