Tourists next season

I'm aware that there are people (one of my mates being one of them) who cocked up on the season ticket front and are now struggling to get them - concerned that they are now off sale so they might not be able to. My initial response to my mate was that he should have got it sorted so it was his own fault - and I suppose it still is.

However, one of the women at work who is a season ticket holder at the sty with her 6 year old son has just told me that she is furious with her husband because he and his dad (both West Ham fans) have bought season tickets at the Lane for next season for themselves and her son so that they can watch premiership football. I never thought we'd become a tourist club like Man U are and really feel for any Blades who might not get tickets because of people like this. Next thing we know we'll have them sat with half and half scarves. It will also dilute the atmosphere because these people are simply spectators, not supporters.
 



Hopefully the club put a similar thing in like they did for some games this season, where you have to have 500 points, or been to a couple of games this season or whatever to be able to get a ticket.

This will stop people like the armchair Man Utd fan I work with getting tickets like he says he’s going to. Get f*cked.
 
Sorry Scooter. I believe her. She's no need to lie because she hates us and was unbelievably embarrassed to admit that her son is happy to watch united rather than them. Couldn't people buy season tickets up to a few weeks ago at a higher rate than those of us who renewed?

They can't have tickets on general sale at the same time as renewals because renewals take priorities seat wise.

Still don't believe it's correct. She might not by lying, it could be the hubby that's winding her up.

Maybe so, which would make it funny. But I thought that people could buy tickets not already taken as season tickets and so therefore not required as a renewal?
 
Im a twat aswell. I left it too late, and now I have realised I probably wont be able to get a season ticket at all or even any ticket for any game! except maybe if I sit in the home end at the Etihad. shit!
 
Let's be honest, Bramall Lane already feels like a tourist destination most of the time (heard very depressing reports about BLUT v Ipswich).

But to see it become a genuine tourist destination will be very distasteful. It will happen though because this area hasn't had a club in the Holy Grail League for a long time.

Fans will all have their chance to get their tickets though, one way or another. And at least the inevitable high attendances will prompt the beginning of the stadium development - as long as we stay in the HGL.

Renewals only ended the day before the Ipswich game.

I don't think season tickets have been available since then.

The projected ST sales are for 27k - which would mean around 2k tickets available per game which I'd imagine will be sold on a points basis. So not many tourists/students.

It already is a tourist destination judging by the folks who randomly rocked up in the seats around me in the South Stand at the home game against Ipswich.

Yeah, but pretty sure people could buy new ones at the same time (as long as they were not taken this season so therefore wouldn't be renewed) 'cos my lad looked into getting one but couldn't afford it. Every chance I'm wrong but he certainly thought he could get one.
 
Renewed my season ticket about 4 days in, so no problems.

Though i dont get the opportunity to get to that many away matches now i've got kids i'm always surprised at the fans who can't get tickets for high profile away games, compared to the ones who know players, know someone who works at the club, or someone who has corporate hospitality who sorted them out with a ticket, leaving genuine fans in the home end or without a ticket at all.

I think it’s right. There were three prices announced for early bird savings - renewals, returning fans and new supporter. So I think it was possible to buy a new season ticket during this time. There just wasn’t as much choice of seats as they had to wait until after the early bird deadline to know if people had renewed

It was only renewals, once promotion was confirmed and the renewal deadline passed i'm sure the club are looking to amend the season ticket costs accordingly to reflect our PL status.

So have they taken the offer of season tickets down now because all have been sold (save for BLUT?)

Hopefully that is the case. But I think they may have to make some tickets available for 'new customers'.

Half arsed part timers who've suddenly and completely coincidentally regained their interest are preferable to tourists.... but it's inevitable, and necessary if the club is to grow.

True...and all the clamour for developing the stadium towards 40k....who do they think will fill the extra 8k? It's going to be newcomers, tourists, glory hunters or whatever.

I don't mind it, however, having been in the home end at the emirates when we were tanked 6-0, I found it utter cringe the amount of day trippers that were more interested in selfies and videos (this was 10 years ago....I know it's quite popular now with vloggers and the sort).

Nope. You could buy new season tickets too. I bought 4 (we had season tickets in previous seasons, but not last season).

There were actually three prices listed: one for renewals, one for returning season tickets, and one for new tickets.

I am pretty sure that season tickets were on sale to existing ST holders, 'returning ' ST holders ( had one in the 2 seasons before this one) and new season ticket holders outside of these 2 catagorries

Existing ST holders could renew their own seats plus purchase additional ones.

When they start to re-sell them, seats will become available where ST holders haven't renewed plus any remaining ones. From what I can gather, we are not selling ST's in the BLUT and we are keeping seats aside for 'pay per match ' supporters ( about 3-4k ?

So members ( no ST holders) will be able to purchase tickets in this area....I assume on a loyalty points basis

Not sure, it was discussed and speculated on last week, by me. Here’s the way I see it:
33,000 capacity
23-24,000 season tickets sold (source: wilder)
2,300-2,800 away fans (approx on lower tier)

That leaves anything between perhaps 6-8000 tickets unsold.

I think we’ll have to wait to understand what segregation SAG/ SYP want to impose, what allocation the Prem will accept for away clubs and how many tickets we want to put on general sale for each game.

So they may release some more season tickets but I’d guess it won’t be all 6-8k. But again, just speculating
 
I’m sorted. Season ticket in the same seat I’ve had for the last few seasons, and for what I’ve paid for me and the young un, we’ve got Premier League football on the cheap.

I’ll be interested to see how many tickets start appearing on viagogo, and what measures the club take to stop this happening,
 



Once the PL get involved I reckon SYP take a backseat.

Beasides which, how so they think the Manchester games get policed? 50,000-70,000 people, not 30,000.
